The final week of the 2023 MLB Season is here. This week will be the last chance for several teams to make a serious statement for the AL and NL Playoffs. This week will also be the last chance for betters to make significant bets on regular season games to earn some significant winnings. While there is the postseason to make bets on, the regular season has the bulk and the numerous games.

It is too late for the New York Yankees (78-77) to claim a spot in the AL Postseason, the Arizona Diamondbacks (82-73) are serious contenders for a NL wildcard spot. The Diamondbacks are competing against six other teams in the NL for one of the three NL wildcard spots.
The first game of Monday's slate of MLB matchups is to be the final game of the series between the Diamondbacks and the Yankees. The series is split 1-1 with the last game bringing Arizona one step closer to the postseason.
The Diamondbacks have the potential of being one of the most talented batting teams in the league due to their young, but incredibly talented batting teams. Arizona ranks seventh in the NL in runs accounted for (714), eighth in hits accounted for (1309), sixth in double-base accounted for (265), second in stolen bases (156), second in fewest strikeouts encountered (1196), sixth in batting average (.253), eighth in on-base percentage (.323) and sixth in slugging percentage (.414).
The Diamondbacks are going into this game with the better pitching matchup. Merrill Kelly (3.37 ERA in 165.2 innings pitched) is set to be the starting pitcher for Arizona against a Yankees team that is either tired or depleted.
The Yankees will be going with Clarke Schmidt (4.65 ERA in 151 innings pitched) as their starting pitcher on Monday. The Diamondbacks are going to be the team to beat for the remainder of the season and will certainly have a bright future thanks to their young talented roster.

The final week of the 2023 MLB Season shouldn't be too much of a problem for the Texas Rangers (87-68). This is a week that while they need to focus and finish strong to claim the AL West Divisional title, it shouldn't be too difficult. The Rangers are up 2.5 games over the Houston Astros (85-71) and 3 games over the Seattle Mariners (84-71) in AL West standings.
On Monday, the Rangers are starting a three-game series on the road as they take on the Los Angeles Angels (70-86). The Angels have been one of the most disappointing teams this season and now they are without their star batter and pitcher in Shohei Ohtani.
The Rangers are one of the most efficient teams this season at the plate. The Rangers are ranked first in runs accounted for (851), first in hits accounted for (1418), second in double-bases accounted for (322), fourth in home runs accounted for (217), first in walks accounted for (564), first in batting average (.266), first in on-base percentage (.339), first in slugging percentage (.455) and first in OPS (793).
The Angels will be going with Patrick Sandoval (4.19 ERA in 141.2 innings pitched). He has been the most reliable pitcher for the Angels since the injury forced Shohei Ohtani to not pitch the rest of the season.
The Rangers will have the edge at the plate and at the mound as they will start Jon Gray (4.22 ERA in 151.2 innings pitched) on Monday.

One of the biggest games on Monday and, perhaps the biggest series for the rest of the 2023 MLB Season, is set between the Houston Astros (85-71) going on the road for a three-game series against their AL West Divisional rival in the Seattle Mariners (84-71).
This game, along with the remaining two games of the series, will have serious AL Playoff implications as it could help determine the winner of the AL West and an AL Wildcard spot or two.
Both teams are coming into this matchup with two of their most reliable pitchers at this point in the season. The Astros will be going with Justin Verlander (3.93 ERA in 55 innings pitched for the Astros). The Mariners are going with their ace pitcher Luis Castillo (3.06 ERA in 188.1 innings pitched).
The Astros are ranked third in the AL in runs accounted for (801), third in hits accounted for (1385), fifth in home runs accounted for (215), seventh in stolen bases (105), third in walks (536), second in fewest strikeouts encountered (1192), third in batting average (.258), second in on-base percentage (.332) and third in slugging percentage (.436).
The Mariners are ranked seventh in runs accounted for (735), ninth in hits accounted for (1288), seventh in home runs accounted for (203), fifth in stolen bases (114), sixth in walks (525), ninth in batting average (.244) and sixth in on-base percentage (.323).
In a close game like this, the home field is going to be significant.
