Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates (12:35 PM EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Reds-1.5 (+135)-125Over 8 (-110)
Pirates+1.5 (-160)+105Under 8 (-110)

PICK: Pirates ML (+105) at Caesars Sportsbook

The Reds have been one of the worst teams in baseball in May, thanks in part to a seven-game losing streak to start things off. While their bats have started to heat up a bit over the last week, we expect them to go quiet again today.

Starting today, the Pirates will have Andrew Heaney (2-3, 3.02 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). The veteran is having an excellent start for the Pirates and has been especially sharp lately. In his last two starts against the Phillies and Braves, he combined to allow three runs over 11 innings.

While Heaney gave up four runs over six innings, he only allowed three hits and two walks. We expect a better result for the lefty tonight, especially considering Cincinnati is batting just .212 against lefties this season.

Cincinnati will have an ice-cold Brady Singer (5-2, 5.01 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) on the mound this afternoon. The 28-year-old started the season strong and has a 9.45 ERA across three starts this month. Pittsburgh’s lineup doesn’t pack much of a punch, but they have the talent to take advantage of a struggling starter like Singer.

Houston Astros vs. Tampa Bay Rays (1:10 PM EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Astros-1.5 (+118)-135Over 8.5 (-120)
Rays+1.5 (-140)+115Under 8.5 (+100)

PICK: Astros -1.5 (+118) at Caesars Sportsbook

We are once again backing Astros starter Hunter Brown (6-2, 1.43 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) today. The 26-year-old continues to be one of the best pitchers in baseball. He’s stayed hot in May, going 2-1 with a 1.83 ERA. The righty has allowed more than one run once over his last seven games, and that won’t change this afternoon.

The Rays' lineup has seen their average rise over the last week, thanks primarily to the return of Brandon Lowe. Unfortunately for Tampa, four other starters own averages below .200 over the previous week. That won’t improve today as they face one of the best young pitchers in the game.

Tampa will have Taj Bradley (3-3, 4.80 ERA, 1.34 WHIP) starting against the Astros. The 24-year-old has been wildly inconsistent and is coming off a start where he allowed five runs on six hits and three walks over four innings. We don’t see that changing against an Astros team that owns a 1.130 OPS against him.

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox (1:10 PM EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Mariners-1.5 (+110)-155Over 8 (-120)
White Sox+1.5 (-130)+130Under 8 (+100)

Under 8 (+100) at Caesars Sportsbook

It appears the Mariners have found another promising young starter in Logan Evans (2-1, 2.57 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). While struggling to miss bats, he has done an excellent job of preventing runs. The righty is coming off an impressive six-inning shutout against a great Padres lineup, and we see him delivering another gem against a far worse White Sox team today.

The White Sox will also have a promising young prospect on the mound in Shane Smith (1-3, 2.05 ERA, 1.14 WHIP). The 25-year-old has been especially remarkable in May, with a 1.69 ERA over three starts. Look for him to stay hot against a Mariners lineup that has cooled off significantly over the last few weeks.

The Chicago bullpen will likely be tagged for some runs, but it won’t be enough to stop this bet from cashing.
