His last two came against the White Sox, but the lefty also looked sharp against the Blue Jays, Orioles, and Rangers.

The Mariners will also have a young star on the mound in Bryan Woo (2-1, 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP). The fellow 25-year-old lasted seven innings and delivered quality starts in two straight outings, and we expect another strong showing. The Red Sox lineup has the talent to do just enough damage to outscore the Mariners this afternoon.

We like Crochet and Boston over Woo and the Mariners mainly due to the Seattle lineup. Julio Rodriguez (.191 BA, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 5 SB) and Randy Arozarena (.191 BA, 4 HR, 17 RBI) have both been cold at the plate, leading the Mariners to rank in the bottom ten of the league in batting average.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Angels (9:29 PM EST)

Angels’ starter Tyler Anderson (2-0, 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP) has looked like the ace LA hoped he would be. The lefty has been especially great over his last two starts, combining for 11 ⅔ scoreless innings against the Giants and Astros.

Don’t look now, but Jacob deGrom is starting to string together some starts. There were questions about what the oft-injured ace had left in the tank, but he proved his doubters wrong last week. He allowed just one run over seven innings against the dangerous Dodgers, showing that he is still capable of beating the league’s top bats.

The A’s lineup has overperformed to start the 2025 season, thanks in part to first baseman Tyler Soderstrom (.281 BA, 9 HR, 19 RBI). Unfortunately for the team, the young slugger has begun to cool off quickly. That takes some of the bite out of this offense, which is bad news with deGrom on the mound.

The Rangers' bats have been heating up and are one of the most stable groups in the league. Corey Seager is already dealing with an injury issue, but the rest of the lineup is capable of picking up the slack against rookie starter JT Ginn (1-1, 3.60 ERA, 1.30 WHIP).

Ginn looked sharp in his season debut on April 12, but showed his youth against the Brewers the following week. Even is Seager isn’t available, expect the young righty to deliver another rough outing today.
