St. Louis Cardinals vs. Atlanta Braves (12:15 PM EST)

After a brutal start to the season, the Atlanta Braves are finally starting to heat up. First baseman Matt Olson has led the way, posting a .368 batting average with two home runs and six RBIs. His hot bat is leading an offensive resurgence for the once-great club, but he will get plenty of help from the rest of the Atlanta lineup this afternoon.

We like the Braves' bats to stay hot thanks to Miles Mikolas (0-2, 7.64 ERA, 1.58 WHIP) starting for the Cards. The 36-year-old has a 9.49 ERA across three starts in April, primarily thanks to allowing far too many baserunners. The Braves have the talent to get scoring runs going against the aging veteran, and it will lead to another big total tonight.

The Braves will have Bryce Elder (0-1, 7320 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) starting opposite Mikolas. The 25-year-old broke out in 2023, but regressed badly in 2024. Unfortunately for the Braves, last season’s disappointing results have carried into 2025, leading to the starter allowing 12 runs over 15 innings.

Elder saw the Braves last July and allowed six runs on eight hits over five innings.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets (1:10 PM EST)

The Mets enter this matchup as the hotter team, but they are going to walk away with a loss tonight. A big reason why is the pitching matchup, which features Zack Wheeler (2-1, 3.73 ERA, 0.99 WHIP) facing off against David Peterson (1-1, 3.27 ERA, 1.36 WHIP).

Wheeler is off to another strong start in Philadelphia, and that momentum will carry into today’s start. The veteran was fantastic in his sole start in Citi Field last season, allowing two runs on three hits over seven innings. While this is a better Mets team, don’t expect the two-time All-Star to be rattled.

The other reason we love this bet is Mets’ starter David Peterson. The lefty had an incredible campaign in 2024, posting a 2.90 ERA after closing 2023 at 5.03. While Peterson has looked sharp to start this season, that will change today against a Phillies team that posted a .273 average against him last year.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (9:40 PM EST)

Rays’ starter Taj Bradley (2-1, 5.24 ERA, 1.39) started the season strong in March, but has a 6.06 ERA across three starts this month. That number should be higher, but he benefited from a start against an ice-cold Braves lineup. He allowed six runs on nine hits and four walks in his last start, and we expect to see another ugly outing tonight.

Arizona’s lineup has been one of the best in baseball in 2025. They own the third-highest team OPS (.783) on the season, and are averaging 5.7 runs over their last ten games

The D-backs will have Eduardo Rodriguez (1-2, 4.09 ERA, 1.36 WHIP) starting on the mound tonight. The veteran lefty hasn’t been as sharp as his numbers suggest. That was clear in his last outing, when Rodriguez allowed one run over 5 ⅓ innings but gave up ten hits. That was against a Miami lineup that is no better than what he’ll see tonight.

Expect a pair of ugly starts, leading to an easy cover of this total.
