The Texas Rangers have looked like the cream of the crop in the AL West, in part thanks to a strong start from veteran starter Patrick Corbin. The Rangers have been desperate for rotation depth over the last couple of seasons, but have they finally found a solution with the aging star?
Below, we’ll share how we are betting on Corbin tonight, along with two of our other favorite wagers for Tuesday.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Padres | +1.5 (-225) | -105 | Over 7.5 (-105) |
Tigers | -1.5 (+185) | -115 | Under 7.5 (-115) |
One reason we love this bet is Padres starter Nick Pivetta (3-1, 1.57 ERA, 0.83 WHIP). The veteran is off to the best start of his career and is showing no signs of slowing down. Over his last two starts, the righty has allowed just one run on seven hits and two walks over 13 innings.
Pivetta made one start at Comerica Park last season, allowing two runs over six innings. Detroit was able to get runners on base, but was unable to drive them in against the starter. That won’t change as they face a better version of Pivetta on the mound tonight.
Tigers’ starter Jack Flaherty (1-1, 2.53 ERA, 1.08 WHIP) has shown that last season’s breakout campaign wasn’t a fluke. However, the 29-year-old showed some serious cracks against Milwaukee last week. He allowed three runs on five hits and tw walks over 4 ⅔ innings, leading Detroit to a 0-5 loss.
The Padres' lineup will be an even bigger test. We don’t expect the righty to do well, as San Diego owns a healthy .298 against Flaherty.

Brewers | +1.5 (-190) | +115 | Over 9.5 (-125) |
Giants | -1.5 (+158) | -135 | Under 9.5 (+105) |
Jose Quintana (2-0, 0.71 ERA, 0.87 WHIP) has started his Brewers career about as well as he could have. He dominated the Diamondbacks and Tigers, showing he is capable of taming talented lineups. That success is why we give him the edge against a Giants’ team that ranks in the top six of the league in runs scored.
The Giants did hit Quintana well when he was with the Yankees last season, but that game was in New York. Now they’ll face an even better version of the veteran at home, which is one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in baseball.
Jordan Hicks (1-2, 6.04 ERA, 1.39 ERA) has never settled in as a member of the Giants. He regressed badly in his first season with the team in 2024, finishing with a 4.10 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. Things have looked even worse for the righty in 2025, which is good news for Milwaukee.
The Brew Crew has been swinging the bats well, flashing some serious power against the Athletics over the weekend. Look for them to hammer Hicks early and often. We have some concerns about the Milwaukee bullpen, but we see the lineup and Quintana putting this game out of reach by the time they take over.

Rangers | +1.5 (-170) | +115 | Over 9.5 (-125) |
Athletics | -1.5 (+143) | -135 | Under 9.5 (+105) |
When Rangers’ starter Patrick Corbin (1-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) is on the mound, we hammer the over.
The 35-year-old has looked improved in his first two starts with the Rangers, but there is little reason to expect that to continue. The lefty has posted an ERA of at least 5.20 in four straight seasons, starting at least 30 games in each. Corbin’s long career is coming to a quick end, and he’ll prove that tonight.
The A’s lineup is the best one we’ve seen in years. Young Tyler Soderstrom has led the way with a league-leading nine home runs and 19 RBIs. Now Lawrence Butler and Brent Rooker are finding their stroke, making the top of the lineup incredibly tough. Look for those bats to get hot early against Corbin, leading to the veteran exiting the game early.
The A’s will have Osvaldo Bido (2-1, 2.61 ERA, 1.45 WHIP) on the mound against Corbin. His ERA is great, but his WHIP shows it won’t last. The 29-year-old has failed to break into the big leagues much over his career, but the A’s are using him as a back-end starter to begin the season.
Watch for a red-hot Corey Seager to lead this Rangers lineup to a massive showing against Bido and the A’s tonight.
