Cubs | +1.5 (-220) | +100 | Over 7.5 (-120) |
Padres | -1.5 (+180) | -120 | Under 7.5 (+100) |
This game was played in Chicago earlier this month. The same starters were on the mound, and Chicago walked away with a 7-1 victory. They’ll duplicate that effort tonight for a big West Coast win.
Padres’ starter Nick Pivetta (2-1, 1.59 ERA, 0.82 WHIP) has looked like an ace in his first year with the Padres, but those numbers are inflated. In two starts against the Rockies and Braves, he pitched 14 scoreless innings. However, when tested against a good Cubs lineup, he allowed three runs on six hits and four walks over three innings.
While Pivetta will put his last start against Chicago out of his mind, that won’t last if he finds himself in trouble early. The Cubs are likely to do just that, given that they lead all of baseball with over 120 runs scored this season.
Veteran Matthew Boyd (1-1, 1.59 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) will be on the mound for the Cubbies tonight. The veteran’s career has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but has has looked fantastic across three starts this season. That includes a start against the Padres on April 5, where he held them scoreless over six innings. He’ll be on the road this time but will have the advantage starting in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park.

Giants | +1.5 (-190) | +118 | Over 7.5 (-110) |
Phillies | -1.5 (+158) | -140 | Under 7.5 -110() |
Veteran Robbie Ray (3-0, 2.93 ERA, 1.24) has posted impressive numbers over his first few starts, but there is a major red flag. The lefty is struggling badly to control his stuff, issuing a combined nine walks over he last two starts (ten innings). WHIP has never been much of an issue for the former Cy Young winner, but injuries have limited him to just eight starts between 2023 and 2024. While seeing the veteran return to form is excellent, we aren’t ready to trust him against Philly on the road.
The Phillies will send veteran Aaron Nola (0-3, 5.51 ERA, 1.41 WHIP) out to the mound tonight. The 31-year-old has gotten off to a rocky start but has shown signs of improvement each time out. We expect that trend to continue against a Giants team struggling to put balls into play.
The Giants' lineup is struggling, thanks to three key bats cooling off: Heliot Ramos, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman. Those are the three most important hitters in this lineup, leading to a slump. That won’t change tonight, with those three hitters going a combined 1-29 (.034 batting average).

Angels | -1.5 (+135) | -115 | Over 9.5 (+100) |
Rangers | +1.5 (-160) | -105 | Under 9.5 (-120) |
The Rangers are the best team in the AL West, but they will fall victim to a division rival tonight. That’s because 35-year-old Patrick Corbin will be on the mound for Texas. The once-promising starter has been one of the worst pitchers in baseball since 2020, posting ERAs of 5.20 each season.
Corbin will face an Angels lineup that has been light-years better than in 2024. One reason for that is the surprising breakout of second baseman Kyren Paris. The 23-year-old played a combined 36 games with the club in 2023 and 2024 but has emerged to become its most dangerous hitter. Paris owns a .368 average with five home runs, five stolen bases, and a league-leading 1.309 OPS.
LA will have one of its most promising young pitchers on the mound in Jose Soriano. He looked great in his first full season with the club and is off to a fantastic start in 2025. The Rangers have logged 25 at-bats against the righty and posted a measly .200 batting average.
