Detroit Tigers vs. Milwaukee Brewers (7:40 PM, EST)

The Brewers' hot streak suddenly stopped in Phoenix over the weekend. After a 7-0 win to kick off the series, the team blew leads to drop the next two games. The bullpen was to blame, with closer Trevor Megill and backend reliever Joel Payamps getting hit hard. 

Milwaukee will have an unproven starter on the mound tonight in Quinn Priester. He was strong in his Brewers debut but will face a far tougher test against the Tigers.

Detroit will have ace Jack Flaherty on the mound. The 29-year-old is off to another strong start in 2025, going 1-0 with a 1.62 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Those numbers include starts against the Dodgers and Yankees, with Flaherty having the upper hand. 

The Brewers have a .208 average against Flaherty, which won’t improve tonight.

Seattle Mariners vs. Cincinnati Reds (6:40 PM, EST)

We are locking in this total before it gets any lower. This game features two of the league’s worst lineups that rank in the bottom ten in the league in OPS. While both have a young superstar at the heart of their lineup, they lack the depth to support them.

That lack of depth will play a significant role tonight with two fantastic starters on the mound.

One side is veteran Mariners' ace Luis Castillo. The 32-year-old has been electric to begin the season, posting a 2.12 ERA across three starts. He is still giving up some hits and walks, but he has been fantastic with runners on base. Opponents have posted a brutal .125 average against Castillo with runners on, leading to his impressive ERA.

Reds’ starter Nick Lodolo has stunned the league to begin 2025. After a rough 2024 campaign, the lefty has gone 2-1 with a 0.96 ERA and 0.70 WHIP over three starts. While he has yet to be tested against a great lineup, that isn’t what he’ll face tonight. Look for Lodolo to deliver another dazzling performance tonight.

Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays (7:05 PM, EST)

Honestly, we just don’t trust Ryan Pepiot. He has a 3.38 ERA across three starts this season but also owns a brutal 1.50 WHIP. It has gotten him into trouble this season, but the damage was minimal, thanks to playing the Angels, Pirates, and Rockies. Those are three bad lineups, but that’s not what Pepiot will face tonight.

Boston’s lineup has been cold over the last week, but Trevor Story is slugging .517 during that period. His hot play has been carrying this team, but he won’t have to do it much longer. Rafael Devers and Alex Bregman will get hot, giving them a fantastic opportunity tonight.

We're wary of Red Sox starter Walker Buehler, but he looked incredible in his last start. After being hit hard in his first two starts of the season, he allowed just one run over 6 ⅓ innings against the Blue Jays. This is the version of Buehler we saw before the injuries began to mount, and we think he can keep it up tonight against a bad Rays lineup.
