Minnesota Twins vs. Kansas City Royals (2:10 PM, EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Twins-1.5 (+162)+100Over 8.5 (+100)
Royals+1.5 (-195)-120Under 8.5 (-120)

PICK: Royals ML (-120) at Caesars Sportsbook

Things have gone very wrong in Minnesota over the first few weeks of the season. It starts with the lineup, which is batting just .201 so far this season. That is the fourth-lowest average in the league to go with the second-lowest OPS (.578).

The Twins’ cold bats will be a big problem against Michael Wacha tonight. The veteran has had a mixed start to the season, but will be facing a team he dominated last season. Wacha threw seven scoreless innings, holding the Twins to a .182 average. That start came at home, where Wachawent 7-3 with a 2.89 ERA.

The Twins will have Bailey Ober on the mound tonight. THe 29-year-old looks OK in his last start, but was hammered by the Cards to open the season, leading to a 12.15 ERA.

Ober had three starts against the Royals last year, and it did not go well. The team hit for a .322 average, scoring 14 runs on 19 hits over 13 1/3 innings (9.45 ERA). Expect him to deliver another stinker against Kansas City tonight.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox (6:45 PM, EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Blue Jays-1.5 (+143)-105Over 9 (-110)
Red Sox+1.5 (-170)-115Under 9 (-110)

PICK: Blue Jays ML (-105) at Caesars Sportsbook

Red Sox start Walker Buehler looked like a future ace in 2021, but injuries have hammered him since then. He finished last season going 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA and 1.55 WHIP as a part of the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. He hoped a change of scenery in 2025 would help, but his struggles following him to the East coast.

Over his first two starts of teh season, Buehler has allowed nine runs over 9 ⅓ innings (8.68 ERA) and posted a brutal 1.61 WHIP. Those are ugly numbers that will lead to an ugly start against a Jays team that ranks thirteenth in OPS (.714).

Toronto will have veteran Chris Bassitt on the mound. The righty had an off-year in 2024, but has returned to his former glory to stat this season. He has pitched 12 ⅔ innings and allowed just one run. His WHIP is also improved (1.11), leading us to believe the turnaround is real.

Even though Bassitt struggled last season, he still finished with a 2.63 ERA in four starts against the Red Sox. Two of those starts took place in Fenway, where he allowed just three runs over 13 ⅔ innings.

Boston is the better team here, but Buehler will dig them into a hole too big to overcome.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves (7:15 PM, EST)

Run LineSpreadMoneylineTotal
Phillies+1.5 (-205)+105Over 8 (-110)
Braves-1.5 (+170)-125Under 8 (-110)

PICK: Under 8 (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

These are two great lineups, but the pitching matchup will lead to a low-scoring final tonight.

The Phillies will have Jesus Luzardo on the mound tonight. The 27-year-old has thrived in his first season with the Phillies, looking like the pitcher the Marlins always hoped he would be. We saw him dominate the Dodgers last week, holding them scoreless on two hits over seven inning.

The Braves lineup has some big bats, but they are struggling to start the season. Their .207 average and .296 OBP show they are struggling to generate runs. That is a bad trend heading into a matchup against Luzardo, who they had a .214 average against when he was in Miami.

The good news for Atlanta is that they’ll have Spencer Schwellenbach on the mound. The 24-year-old was fantastic in 2024 rookie campaign, and has started this year with a 14 inning scoreless streak. He has allowed just three hits and one walk during that span, showing the success if far from a fluke.

Both starters will deliver gems, leading to a low-scoring brawl.
