The Los Angeles Angels were one of the biggest jokes from opening day in the US, but they have since become one of the hottest teams in the league. Now they’ll bring a winning record into a series against a struggling Rays team, giving fans hope this squad is better than expected.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Cardinals | +1.5 (-195) | +115 | Over 6.5 (-120) |
Pirates | -1.5 (+162) | -135 | Under 6.5 (+100) |
The Cards have some pitching problems, but their lineup is tearing the cover off the ball. They are leading the league in batting average and rank in the top five in runs scored. That has led to high-scoring losses, but that won’t happen tonight.
The Pirates' lineup is struggling to generate offense early in 2025. The lineup lacks depth, and two-time All-Star Bryan Reynolds is off to a rough start. He is batting for a .182 average and showing little sign of turning things around. Even if he can improve tonight, this team doesn’t have enough talent to do much damage at the plate.
The price for this bet is so favorable due to Paul Skenes being on the mound for Pittsburgh. The 2024 Rookie of the Year has looked elite through his first two starts of the season. He also posted a 1.31 ERA against St. Louis over three starts last season but still went 0-2. That is the curse of being a Pirates starter, and it will cost Skenes another victory tonight.

Blue Jays | +1.5 (-134) | +160 | Over 8.5 (-122) |
Red Sox | -1.5 (+112) | -190 | Under 8.5 (+100) |
Garret Crochet has looked fantastic in a Red Sox uniform. He is 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA over two starts while posting a 0.92 WHIP. In his last start, the lefty held the Orioles scoreless over eight innings, allowing four hits and striking out eight. He has shown why the Red Sox signed him to a massive deal and will do so again tonight.
After going 5-2 at home to start the season, the Jays were swept by the Mets in a three-game series. Toronto was unable to find ways to generate offense, being outscored 10-3. Don’t count on those bats heating up against Crochet.
Easton Lucas will be taking the mound for the Jays tonight. The lefty made his first career start last week, shutting the Nats out over five innings. As impressive as that was, he will face a far more challenging test in the Red Sox.
Boston’s offense has been fantastic at the start of the season. They are third in the league in OPS, even with Rafael Devers’s slow start. The star third-baseman heated up to start April, posting a .526 average over the first five games of the month.

After losing their season opener to the lowly White Sox, the Angels have been one of the hottest teams in the league. After taking series from the Sox, Cardinals, and Guardians, they have a winning record, giving fans hope that this team could be better than expected.
We aren’t exactly ready to say the Angels will win the AL West, but we believe this team could be dangerous. A big reason for that is Kyren Paris's breakout. The second baseman has been on fire at the plate and is proving to be an elite baserunner, showing why the team has been excited about the 23-year-old.
LA may have found something with tonight’s starter, Kyle Hendricks. The former Cub is coming off the worst campaign of his career but looked sharp in his first start with his new team. The 35-year-old held the Cards to two runs over six innings, leading to a 9-7 win.
Tampa’s lineup ranks in the league's bottom half in OPS, meaning that starter Shane Baz won’t get much run support. That makes this a fairly even matchup, so we are rolling with the hotter team tonight.
