Today’s games give us a look at some of the league's most promising young pitchers: Spencer Arrighetti, Mitchell Parker, Richard Fitts, and Andre Pallante. These pitchers give us some great bets for today, which we will share below.

Run Line | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Diamondbacks | -1.5 (+122) | -130 | Over 9 (+100) |
Nationals | +1.5 (-145) | +110 | Under 9 (-120) |
This is a high total, but we are locking it in today. One reason is the Arizona offense, which has averaged 6.8 runs per game over its last five. The team is getting contributions up and down their lineup, including from Corbin Carroll. The 24-year-old suffered a sophomore slump last season but has come out of the gates with a .9111 OPS over his first eight games.
Carroll and the boys will be facing 25-year-old Mitchell Parker. The lefty had a decent rookie season but opened this year by blanking the Philles over 6 ⅓ innings. It was an impressive feat, but Parker allowed seven hits and two walks. He had some luck in the win but will fall back to Earth against this Arizona offense.
We have been expecting more from the Nationals' lineup than we have seen. CJ Abrams, Keibert Ruiz, and Nathaniel Lowe have gotten off to fantastic starts, but the rest of the lineup has been abysmal. It has led this team to start 1-6, but they’ll have a great chance to heat up tonight.
Eduardo Rodriguez will be on the mound for Arizona tonight. The 31-year-old had been a solid starter, but a rough 2024 campaign shortened by injury had him look like a different pitcher. He struggled against the Cubs in his opening start. His control isn’t there, leading to two home runs and three walks over 5 ⅓ innings. That means the Nats will have a great chance of generating offense, leading to a high-scoring brawl.

---|---|---|---|
Astros | +1.5 (-220) | +100 | Over 7.5 (-110) |
Twins | -1.5 (+180) | -120 | Under 7.5 (-110) |
We ended up making a lot of money off Spencer Arrighetti last season. The Astros' top pitching prospect was horrendous over the season's first three months but was kept in the rotation due to injuries. After going 0-3 with a 5.33 over five July starts, he went 3-2 with a 1.95 ERA in August. Something clicked, and it has given the 25-year-old plenty of confidence.
Arrighetti stayed hot this season, holding the Mets to one run on one hit over six innings. He saw the Twins once last season while struggling but held them to two runs over five innings. Given the state of this Minnesota team, we expect him to look even better this afternoon.
Bailey Ober is a talented pitcher, but the Astros have hit him hard. The team has a .344 batting average and .844 slugging percentage against the veteran.
The Twins have had one of the worst starts in the league this season. They are 2-5, with both wins coming against the lowly White Sox.

Cardinals | +1.5 (-190) | +105 | Over 9 (+100) |
Red Sox | -1.5 (+158) | -125 | Under 9 (-120) |
This may be the pitching matchup we are most excited about today.
On one side is 25-year-old Richard Fitts. The Red Sox prospect has a 2.36 ERA over five career starts but is still searching for his first win. He started this season with a quality start against the Rangers and will search for his first career win tonight.
The Cardinals are swinging the bat as well as anyone in the league, but they can’t keep it up all season. The team’s lineup got a little worse this season, meaning a regression is likely coming. Given that the team has never seen Fitts, we expect that regression to kick off tonight.
Andre Pallante went 8-8 with a 3.78 ERA in his first year as a full-time starter for the Cards. The 26-year-old won his first game of the season last week, holding the Twins to two runs over five innings. He’ll be on the road today, where he did his best work last season.
These are two great offenses, so this total is set too high. Take the under and enjoy a fantastic pitching matchup today.
