We have a pair of great bets from Tuesday’s slate of games. The first in an NL Central battle between the division-leading Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals. The other is a lackluster matchup of two slumping teams as the Texas Rangers and Pittsburgh Pirates face off.
We will share our favorite bet for these games below, sharing odds taken from FanDuel Sportsbook. If you are new and looking to try FanDuel, use our custom link to earn $200 in Bonus Bets when you place an initial wager of $5+!

The Cardinals' trade for Erick Fedde (8-6, 3.40 ERA, 1.15) at the deadline has not been paying off. The 31-year-old was having the best season of his unimpressive career with the White Sox but has regressed with the Cards. Over three starts with this new team, Fedde has a 5.63 ERA.
Fedde’s struggles will be on full display tonight against a great Brewers offense. Milwaukee has ranked in the top ten of the league in runs scored and batting average all season and now owns the best run differential in the NL. Considering that Fedde allowed the Crew to score four runs on nine hits over five innings back in May, we expect him to deliver another ugly start tonight.
The Brewers will also have a newly acquired veteran on the mound in Frankie Montas (5-8, 4.86 ERA, 1.46 WHIP). The 31-year-old has had a rough few seasons but is finding a home in Milwaukee with a 3.86 ERA across three starts. Montas faced the Cardinals while with the Reds at the end of June and allowed just one run on two hits and three walks over six innings.
While Montas is hard to trust, he will face an easier test against the Cardinals tonight. The team has struggled at the plate all season and has been especially bad lately. St. Louis is averaging just 2.7 runs over their last seven games.

The Rangers have been slumping since the All-Star break, but the Pirates have been even worse. The Buccos have lost 11 of their previous 13 games and are now 10-17 since the All-Star break.
We like the Rangers to win in this matchup of cold clubs because of the pitching matchup. Texas will have Cody Bradford (4-0, 3.50 ERA) on the mound. The 26-year-old has been fantastic for Texas, though he missed most of the season with an injury. He has been solid since his return from the IL, posting a 3.68 ERA over three starts.
Bradford’s last two starts were especially good. He allowed a combined three runs over 11 innings against the Twins and Yankees. Both of those squads are far better at the plate than the Pirates, so we expect him to deliver one of his best starts of the season tonight.
The Pirates will have Mitch Keller (10-7, 3.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) starting tonight. The 28-year-old has been a staple in the Pittsburgh rotation but has been shelled his last two times out. He allowed a combined 15 runs over nine innings in those outings, leading to an ugly 10.38 ERA for August.
The Rangers’ lineup has been incredibly disappointing, but it still has some elite bats. With Keller’s confidence shaken, look for them to do damage en route to a badly needed win.
