The Dodgers have the better team, but the Brewers' advantage on the mound tonight will lead them to a crucial win.
The Dodgers will have rookie Gaving Stone (9-5, 3.71 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) on the mound in Milwaukee tonight. The 25-year-old has been solid for LA this season but has started regressing over the last few weeks. He has not posted a quality start since June 26, with an ERA of 6.97 during that span.
Stone’s recent struggles will be exposed by a great Brewers lineup tonight. While they are without Christian Yelich, the Crew are still generating a ton of offense. They rank fifth in the league in batting average and seventh in runs scored, making them one of the most productive lineups in the league.
The Brewers will have Colin Rea (10-3, 3.38 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) starting opposite Stone tonight. The 34-year-old has been fantastic for Milwaukee this season, posting the best numbers of his career. While he isn’t going deep into many games, he has consistently put the Brewers in a position to win, which they have done in six of his last seven starts.
Trusting Rea has taken us some time, but he has earned it over the last couple of months. He is coming off one of his best starts of the season, where he held the Braves scoreless over seven innings. As impressive as the Dodgers’ lineup is, we expect Rea’s momentum and confidence to once again lead to a win for the Crew.

This game is tailor-made to hit the under, even with a total as low as this one. One reason for that is the state of these lineups, which rank in the bottom three of the league in batting average. While the Mariners' lineup has gotten better, it still has many holes that can be exploited by elite pitching, which they will face tonight.
The Tigers will have ace Tarik Skubal (13-4, 2.57 ERA, 0.93 WHIP) starting tonight. The lefty has become one of the top pitchers in the league despite playing for a bad team. He has done some of his best work at home this season, where he is 7-1 with a 2.41 ERA>
While the Mariners' lineup has gotten more dangerous over the last few weeks, they are no match for a pitcher of Skubal’s talent. The Tigers starter faced this Seattle team just last week and allowed two runs on three hits over seven innings en route to his thirteenth win of the season. While Julio Rodriguez will be back from the IL for tonight’s game, his cold bat doesn’t worry.
The Mariners will also have a great starter on the mound tonight in George Kirby (8-8, 3.13 ERA, 1.02 WHIP). The 26-year-old has been a vital part of this elite staff and has not allowed more than three runs in a start since May 24.
While Kirby wasn’t sharp against the Tigers last week, he still was able to limit them to three runs over five innings. It was an off day for the young pitcher, leading to a weak Tigers lineup being able to do some damage. Kirby doesn’t post back-to-back bad starts, so look for him to rebound in a big way tonight.
