We are locked in on a pair of young starters for our bets today. The first is from a cross-country matchup between the AL-West leading Seattle Mariners and the Tampa Bay Rays. The other is a battle between two of the AL’s top teams as the Cleveland Guardians visit the Baltimore Orioles.
Below, we will share our favorite bet for each game. The odds we use are taken from FanDuel Sportsbook, which offers new players a welcome bonus of $150 in Bonus Bets when they sign up and make an initial winning wager of $5+.

The Mariners have been cold of late, but they have a great chance to add a win this afternoon as they face Ryan Pepiot (4-4, 4.61 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) on the mound. The 26-year-old was a big piece in the team’s trade with the Dodgers, but he has been a massive disappointment so far. After starting strong in April, Pepiot has posted a 6.35 ERA since. Some of that can be blamed on a stint on the IL, but he hasn’t shown much improvement in the six starts since his return.
Pepiot’s most significant issue is his control. He has allowed seven walks in his last two starts (8.0 innings), leading to short outings. While the Mariners' lineup isn’t good, they rank sixth in the league in walks. Pepiot’s worst outings have come against teams that have been patient at the plate, and that is what he’ll face today.
The Mariners will have a great young pitcher on the mound in George Kirby (6-5, 3.47 ERA, 0.99 WHIP). The 26-year-old had a rocky start to the season but owns an impressive 1.74 ERA over his last five starts. Given that the Rays own a .136 batting average against Kirby, we love his chances to stay hot today.
Tampa’s lineup has struggled without Wander Franco, especially with Randy Arozarena posting a .191 batting average this season. The team has been especially bad when playing at home, where they own a .224 batting average. The Rays have also struggled against righties, with a .231 batting average. Given that both factors will be in play tonight, don’t expect much from this Tampa lineup.

While both teams have been among the best in the league, we love this run line bet tonight. The Guardians (3-6, 5.40 ERA) will have veteran Carlos Carrasco on the mound against the Orioles. The 37-year-old is not the pitcher he once was, and he has been getting hit hard in June. The righty has a 5.95 ERA for the month, lasting just 19.2 innings across four starts. All those starts came against teams that rank in the bottom ten in runs scored this season: the Nationals, Marlins, and Blue Jays (twice).
Carrasco is coming off a strong start against Toronto, but he’ll be in for much more of a challenge tonight. Baltimore leads all of baseball in runs scored and home runs while ranking seventh in batting average. While most of the lineup will be seeing Carassco for the first time, batters have a .320 average against him the second time through the lineup, making his prospects for tonight bleak.
The Orioles will have Grayson Rodriguez (8-3, 3.82 ERA) on the mound tonight. The 24-year-old is one of the best young pitchers in the league. He is coming off a brutal outing against an elite Astros lineup, but it was just the second time he has allowed more than two runs since April 23. We expect him to bounce back tonight as he returns home, where he is 4-1 with a 2.21 ERA.
