We have two bets that stand above the rest from today’s slate of games. The first comes from a matchup of two of the AL’s most dangerous teams as the Cleveland Guardians visit the Baltimore Orioles. The other is from a game between the Washington Nationals and a hot-hitting San Diego Padres team.
Below, we will share our favorite bet for both of these matchups. We will use odds taken from FanDuel Sportsbook, which offers new players a bonus of $200 in Bonus Bets if their initial wager of $5+ wins.

This is a matchup between two of the AL’s top teams. While both have impressive rosters, we see the Guardians having the edge on the road tonight. The reason is tonight’s pitching matchup, which features two promising young pitchers.
The Guardians will be starting Tanner Bibee (5-2, 3.65 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) tonight. The 25-year-old had an incredible rookie campaign in 2023 and has been solid for Cleveland this year. While his ERA isn’t as impressive, Bibee has delivered some very impressive outings. One of those came in his last start, where he held the AL West-leading Mariners scoreless over six innings while striking out 12.
While Bibee will have his hands full against a great Baltimore lineup tonight, he has done his best work when on the road this season. He owns a 2.84 ERA across seven road starts, with opponents managing a .218 average against the budding star.
The Orioles will have rookie Cade Povich (0-1, 3.94 ERA) on the mound tonight. He has hammered in his first start but bounced back to throw six scoreless innings against the Braves. His last time out came against the Yankees, where he allowed just one run over 4 2/3 innings but walked five batters. Those numbers show that the prospect is still figuring things out, which will give the Guardians an advantage tonight.

The Padres made a major statement over the weekend as they beat up a very good Brewers team. Their offense led the way, putting up massive run totals that Milwaukee just couldn’t match. While pitching remains a long-term concern, they will have one of their most reliable arms on the mound tonight.
San Diego will start Matt Waldron (5-6, 3.46 ERA, 1.16 WHIP) against the Nationals tonight. The 27-year-old has been elite over his previous eight starts, posting a 1.83 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP. His last start was one of his best, holding a great Phillies team to one run over seven innings. While the Nats’ lineup is better than most people give them credit for, they don’t have enough to fight off a red-hot Waldron tonight.
The Nationals will have veteran Patrick Corbin (1-7,5.60 ERA) starting opposite Waldron. The 34-year-old has been awful since the 2020 season, and this year is no exception. While he has allowed only two runs over his last two starts, he only lasted a combined 10 1/3 innings against mediocre offenses. Now, he’ll be up against a Padres team that leads the league in batting average and has been hammering lefties all season.
