Tuesday brings us a fantastic slate of games that offer two great bets. The first is an NL East battle between the Marlins and Mets, and the other is an interleague matchup between the Astros and Giants.
Below, we’ll share our favorite bet for both of these matchups. We will use odds taken from FanDuel Sportsbook, which offers new players a welcome bonus of $200 in Bonus Bets when they sign up and make an initial winning wager of $5+.

The Mets have been turning things around over the last week, but they are about to run into a brick wall today in the form of Jesus Luzardo (2-5, 5.30 ERA). While the 26-year-old’s season numbers aren’t great, they are inflated from a brutal outing last week where he allowed nine runs across 4 ⅓ innings. It was an ugly outing, but there is reason to believe he will turn things around in a big way today.
Before Luzardo’s last outing, he had allowed seven combined runs over his previous five starts (2.02 ERA). That run includes a start versus the Mets, where he held them to score on five hits and zero walks over six innings. The strong outing was far from a fluke, with Luzardo allowing just one run in 13 innings against the Mets in 2023. Even with the Mets playing well, we expect Luzardo to have the upper hand tonight.
The Mets will have Tylor Megill (1-2, 3.00 ERA) starting against the Marlins. The righty has only made four starts this season and is coming off a brutal outing against the Nationals. Megill allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks across five innings. That is the version of the 28-year-old that we have seen over the last few seasons, which means we don’t think a bounceback is in the cards.
While Megill can be incredible when he is on, consistency has never been his strong suit.

While a quick glance at the stats from tonight’s pitchers may indicate a pitcher's duel, a deeper look shows that won’t be the case.
The Astros will have Ronel Blanco (5-2, 2.78 ERA) making the start tonight. The 30-year-old is having the best season of his career, but he has been struggling over the last month. After posting a 1.65 ERA heading into May, he has delivered a 3.94 ERA since. That number was further boosted last week when he was shelled by the Cardinals.
Blanco will have his hands full against this Giants’ lineup. While they aren’t as elite as the Astros, the team ranks in the league's top half in both batting average and runs scored. A hot streak from left fielder Heliot Ramos (.314 BA, 6 HR, 23 RBI) has been leading them of late. The 24-year-old has been tearing the cover off the ball in May, putting up a .400 batting average with four home runs and ten RBIs. The Giants have had high hopes for the outfielder, and Ramos has lived up to them in 2024.
The Giants will have Jordan Hicks (4-2, 2.82 ERA) making the start opposite of Blanco. While his numbers are good, he has not made a 6+ inning start since April 27. A big reason for that is his rapidly rising WHIP, which has been 1.48 since May 3. Hicks is coming off back-to-back ugly outings, which doesn’t bode well for tonight as he faces an Astros team that ranks second in batting average (.260).
