André Jardine’s side made the mistake of sitting back after taking the 2-1 lead instead of using the momentum and going for more goals. However, Guillermo Almada’s men need to be watchful, as their losses during the season came against sides that were in poor form. Their first defeat of the season came at the hands of Club Leon, who finished outside the top 12 and failed to qualify for the playoffs this season.

The 3-1 defeat at the start of April did make things interesting at the top for a bit, but it did not help Laguna qualify for the playoffs. The final loss came in the last game of the league season when Guillermo Almada experimented with the side. He made a few changes to the team and they could not beat Pumas UNAM.
