Euro 2024 is an international tournament taking place in Germany this summer

Euro 2024 got under way on June 14 and we have now reached the showpiece match with two teams left standing.
Germany is hosting the tournament, which is the third edition of the European Championship to feature 24 teams. England and Spain are vying for the trophy, but in this article we are focusing on an individual contest.

With 50 of the 51 matches at Euro 2024 having been completed, there are six players level at the top of the scoring charts with three goals each: Harry Kane, Dani Olmo, Cody Gakpo, Georges Mikautadze, Ivan Schranz and Jamal Musiala. However, only two of those men are still in the competition and fighting to finish as the outright top scorer.

Harry Kane is the slight favorite with the best online sportsbooks. The England captain scored against Denmark on matchday two of the group phase, before notching the extra-time winner against Slovakia in the round of 16. Kane then equalized for England in the semi-final against the Netherlands with a well-taken penalty.
No one in European club soccer scored more goals than Kane in the 2023/24 campaign, but England’s first-choice striker has not looked like his usual self this summer. Kane is thought to be carrying an injury and it is clear that something is affecting his performances.
There is even talk that Kane might not start the final against Spain, although it is hard to see Gareth Southgate leaving him out of the XI. However, this is not a foregone conclusion.
Dani Olmo has been one of the most efficient attacking players at Euro 2024. He has only started two matches for Spain, with three of his appearances coming off the bench. But Olmo is averaging a goal every 113.67 minutes - not bad for an attacking midfielder.
With Pedri out of the final after picking up an injury against Germany in the quarters, Olmo is set to start at No.10 with Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal either side of him. The RB Leipzig forward is a good finisher who excels at finding space in and around the penalty box.
Olmo is demonstrably not as reliable a goalscorer as Kane overall, but he has been his match at this tournament and is in better form than the England captain. Many will like the look of the odds available on the Spaniard to top the scoring charts.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Patrik Schick were the joint-top scorers at Euro 2020, which was held in 2021 due to a one-year delay because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Portugal international and the Czech Republic striker both found the back of the net five times at the tournament.
