Argentina are the defending title holder in this competition winning it back in 2021 over their arch-nemesis Brazil. The books have listed Argentina as the favorite to recapture the title in this summer's competition.
Led by Messi in what could be his last appearance with his country in a major soccer tournament, Argentina does have a favorable group to advance to the knockout stage. The 2022 FIFA World Cup Champions will be bringing most of the squad that captured the title in Qatar, minus a few exceptions injecting some youth into the roster.
The books have made Chile the clear number two choice to advance to the knockout round in the opening of the Copa America. La Roja aren’t in the best of forms at the moment, as they currently sit in eighth place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. Only bagging three goals in six matches Chile's lack of a true striker is showing. Earning one point heading into their final match their now posses the third-highest odds to advance.
Peru opened as the third favourites to advance but it won’t be an upset if they advance to the elimination round. Peru has successfully advanced to the knockout round in their last 10 Copa America showings, including a runners-up finish in 2019. With a winless start to the competition, that streak is now in Jeopardy.
Canada were seen by the books as the least likely to get past the group stage. The team from the Great White North were the darlings of CONCACAF heading into the 2022 World Cup. The team has gone under a new revolution with Jesse Marsch at the helm and it has paid off as canada has now increased its odds to advance after their 1-0 victory over Peru.

CONCACAF giants Mexico are the clear-cut favorites to finish top two. Mexico has not participated in the Copa America since it was last held in the U.S.A. in 2016. El Tri is in a new cycle of new talent coming through the program, most notably forward Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord. The young starlet bagged home 23 goals in 30 league appearances in the Eredivisie this campaign.

After years of group-stage existence in the continental tournament, Ecuador is emerging as a new dark horse in South American soccer. This new rotation of players is seeing more players play in the best leagues in Europe. Most notably Moises Caicedo who has 80
Premier League matches under his belt, will certainly be leaned upon to dictate the play in the middle of the pitch.
Venezuela since 1953 has only made it out of the group only five times in the country’s history. That said in the 2026 World Cup qualifying stage they are punching above their weight currently sitting in fourth place. Veteran forward Salomon Rondon is the main man upfront who has scored 41 times in 104 international appearances and will be counted on to contribute to the scoresheet.
The solid consensus is Jamaica will need a miracle to finish in the top two considering what the books have priced them at. They are a sneaky good team that recently finished third in CONCACAF Nations League play and roster that has several players that are playing on European-based clubs. Playing in the U.S think the Reggae Boyz can hang around Group B

One of the tournament favorites should have no difficulties getting out of Group C with the USA fixture seen as their only difficult moment. A squad that has some of its players playing for the biggest clubs in soccer, their class will shine through. The 15-time Copa America winners cruising in recent form only losing twice in their last nine matches.
The hosting nation will have the advantage of playing in front of their home faithful in familiar surroundings. Though the books have them as the second-best team in the group, it would take a monumental disaster for the U.S.A. to exit after three matches. U.S.A. should handle their affairs with Panama and Bolivia with ease but after their two matches it hasnt gone according to plan. The United States could exit the tournament if they dont walk away with all three points against Uruguay.

Panama has seen some successful moments in recent history qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and last summer finishing runner-up in the CONCACAF Gold Cup. When it comes to true world-class talent the cupboards are almost bare on this roster as only a handful of this current squad are playing overseas in the biggest leagues in Europe.
Bolivia might have a chance to get a result over Panama but even so, it won’t be good enough to get out of Group C. More than 90 percent of their roster plays domestically, which could be a huge wake-up call playing against other countries whose rosters play in more competitive leagues across the globe. The three remaining countries in this group might use their encounters with Bolivia to pad their stats.

Brazil is priced as the second-best side to lift the title this year. Head coach Dorival Junior has a plethora of talent at his disposal and on paper, this team should get to the finals. The only thing that will hold Brazil back from winning it all is if the players play for themselves rather than for the country their representing. The Brazilian squad will be missing one of the game's current generation's biggest stars in the game, Neymar, who is currently playing for Saudi Club Al Hilal and is still recovering from a torn ACL.
Columbia are heavy favourite to succeed in the next phase of the competition. Columbia will be seeking to terminate their Copa drought failing to hoist the trophy since 2001 when they last won. Columbia will be the so-called dark horse, getting overshadowed by world soccer powers Argentina and Brazil. They are currently 14th in the FIFA rankings and have finished in third place twice in the last three editions of the Copa America.
Paraguay has only failed to get out of the group stage once in their last seven appearances, with the lone time being in 2016 when the United States last hosted. Upfront there is a shortfall of players who can make the opposition suffer. Through six World Cup qualifying matches Los Guaraníes have only found the back of the net once. Their lack of offense is paying off on defense as their stout defensive play has only conceded three goals.
Costa Rica for some time usually played the role of bridesmaids failing to defeat the U.S. or Mexico placing them as the third-best program from CONCACAF. Times have changed and unfortunately, it has affected Costa Rica with other countries catching up to them. Factor in a weak talent crop to pick from it’s not breaking news Los Ticos will struggle to get past the group stage.

The chaos in the United States starts on June 20 when Argentina and Canada will clash in Atlanta at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Each team will play against every other side in their group, with the top two advancing to the next juncture. Then comes the round of 16. The winning team after 90 minutes will go through unless extra time and penalties are needed. The tournament will continue like this until the final, which will be on July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
Argentina claimed its 15th Copa America in 2021 where the tournament was played in Brazil. The 2021 edition featured no invites to the competitions just teams from the CONMEBOL region. Argentina finished first in their group winning against Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. Their lone draw was against Chile.
In the Quarter Finals saw Argentina cruzed past Ecuador 3-0. Their semi-final matchup was a lot more competing as they needed penalties to get past Columbia, setting up the stage in finals and taking on the host nation.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there were crowd restrictions at all the matches including the final that saw 7800 fans attend. Angel Di Maria broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute. After that Argentina never looked back and claimed their first Copa America title since 1993.
The tournament will take place in 14 stadiums across the country. Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas, AT&T Stadium Arlington, Bank of America Stadium Charlotte, Children's Mercy Park Kansas City, Exploria Stadium Orlando, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium Kansas City, Hard Rock Stadium Miami Gardens, Levi's Stadium Santa Clara, Mercedes-Benz Stadium Atlanta, MetLife Stadium East Rutherford, NRG Stadium Houston, Q2 Stadium Austin, SoFi Stadium Inglewood, and State Farm Stadium Glendale.
The Copa America is the top men's soccer tournament in South America. It is the oldest running continental football competition, starting in 1916. The competition determines the Champions of South America. National programs from North America and Asia have also been invited to participate in the tournament since the 1990s.
Only Ecuador and Venezuela are the only teams from the CONMEBOL region to win the event. Argentina has hosted this championship tournament nine times including the very first edition in 1916. The United States is the only non-CONMEBOL country to have hosted the Copa America while hosting it in 2016 for the 100th anniversary, and again in 2024.
