Tiger Woods has been delighted with the impact TGL has had on the golfing public but from a playing point of view it hasn’t gone the way he planned.
Tiger’s Jupiter Links has managed just a single win in four matches so far - an overtime victory over the league’s bottom team, Boston Common Golf.
That leaves them fifth out of six in the SoFi Cup Standings and only the top four go into the postseason.
But all is not lost.
A win over Atlanta could still be enough for fourth spot if Boston Common beats New York on Monday.
Atlanta secured its playoff place with a 6-3 win over Boston Common last week.
That represented a third win out of four and ADGC can still finish the regular season in second spot with a win here.
For Tuesday’s match, they blood new talent in the form of Nick Dunlap.
The 21-year-old has signed on a one-match contract and joins veterans Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover in the Atlanta starting trio.
Tiger is back for Jupiter after sitting out the 6-3 loss to The Bay last Tuesday.

Player 1 - Tom Kim | Player 1 - Billy Horschel |
Player 2 - Tiger Woods | Player 2 - Lucas Glover |
Player 3 - Max Homa | Player 3 - Nick Dunlap |
Each match consists of two teams of three playing 15 holes across two sessions on a selection of custom-designed holes
Triples: Holes 1-9 - Each team of three playing in alternate-shot format
Singles: Holes 10-15 - One-vs-one, head-to-head competition for the entire hole. Each player from each team plays a total of two full holes
The 8th Hole, a Par 4 called Hatchet, has been the most difficult green to hit so far in TGL. Only 16.6% of approaches have found the 448-yard par 4 in two.
Kim has brought a tonne of vibrancy to the SoFi Center but the results haven’t matched his strong play. He’s won just two of his six Singles holes while his Triples record shows just 4pts from 27 holes and yet he leads the league in Strokes Gained Total (+7.79). Out on the main PGA Tour, Kim impressed when seventh at Pebble Beach but the youngster has stalled with T44 at both the Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational.
It’s been tough for Tiger so far. This is where his mother last saw him play before passing away and his prep hasn’t been what he would have wanted. In the heavy loss to New York he admitted he hadn’t done his usual warm-up routine due to work commitments and his record shows just one win in six Singles and 4pts from 27 holes in Triples.
Homa has really struggled on the PGA TOUR this season, his last three results showing 53rd at Pebble Beach and missed cuts at the Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational. It’s been a similar story in TGL. He’s played just twice but is 0-for-4 in Singles and has 2pts from 18 holes played in Triples

Horschel has relished the vibe of TGL and it shows. Beyond bringing the energy he’s won a league-leading six points in Singles play and that’s played a big part in Atlanta’s successful drive into the postseason. He’s been a little hit and miss on the PGA TOUR but posted ninth at Pebble and comes in after a decent week at the Cognizant Classic.
Glover has played just once so far and tied both Singles with Ludvig Aberg in the narrow 6-5 loss to The Bay. He did make a mark in Triples though, chipping in to keep Atlanta in the match and watching Justin Thomas perform a somersault as the ball rolled in the hole. Only in the TGL! He missed the cut at the Cognizant Classic last week but third at Pebble Beach highlighted his improvements with the putter.
The 2024 Rookie of the Year - who became the first player in PGA TOUR history to win tournaments as both an amateur and pro in the same season - comes on board for one match only. He’s 6-for-6 on the PGA TOUR this season, logging 10th at the Sony Open and 17th at The Genesis.

This is one of the most lopsided matches so far according to the betting with Atlanta a very clear favorite at -163.
They probably should win but, in truth, holes can be picked in both line-ups.
Sure, Tiger is struggling and Max Homa just hasn’t got it going at all this season.
But Tom Kim has been a real ‘X’ factor for Jupiter and, in theory, could drag Woods and Homa along for the ride and perhaps over the finish line.
Justin Thomas sitting out this one clearly weakens Atlanta and is there enough there with Horschel, Glover and Dunlap to justify a confident bet at short odds?
I’m not convinced.
Both Horschel and Glover have been inconsistent on the PGA TOUR this season while we don’t know how quickly Dunlap will take to the TGL.
In addition, although Atlanta can improve its playoff position, it’s always a risky business backing a team whose main job is already done.
Will Atlanta really be busting a gut?
Jupiter can still scrape through to the playoffs and even if their fate has been sealed by tee-off time, Tiger will be desperate to go out with a ‘W’.
It could be tight and perhaps we’re destined for another playoff.
But there’s mileage in looking beyond the obvious in this one and backing Jupiter Links.
