The Bay Golf Club vs. Jupiter Links Golf Club Predictions

The Bay Golf Club vs. Jupiter Links Golf Club

At first glance, these two teams have had very different experiences in this inaugural season of TGL.

The Bay has ground out three victories to sit pretty (indeed, victory will assure them of a place in the playoffs) while Jupiter Links has won just one of its three matches - and the two defeats were humbling affairs (losing 10-3 to New York Golf Club and 12-1 to LA Golf Club).

That’s a very real contrast, of course, and Jupiter will be under pressure to change such a dire momentum.

But the two sides do have something in common.

Last week Jupiter’s Tiger Woods had 199 yards to the flag and he misunderstood his caddie’s words, hearing only “99”.

So instead of going for the green he inexplicably knocked the ball halfway to the green.

“One of the most embarrassing moments of my golf career just happened,” Woods said as his teammates doubled over in hysterics.

The Bay had a doubleheader last week and, in the first match, the Aussie star Min Woo Lee made his debut.

He completed an eagle at No. 4 in the process but he was helped out by Wyndham Clark who realized he had the wrong club and called a timeout to go and fetch the correct club.

The Bay’s Ludvig Aberg, who sits out this week said: “It seems like every time we miss the green, Min Woo just gets a big smile and tries to chip it in.”

It was not the only time Lee starred last week. He also set a new TGL ball speed record, reaching 191 mph off the tee at No. 9.

The vibes are good for The Bay, but will they prevail again? Let’s find out.

Player Form Guide

Jupiter Links Golf Club

Tom Kim

Since finishing seventh at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Korean has only managed T44 at both the Phoenix Open and Genesis Invitational. He is yet to lose a singles hole but he has only won one of them while halving three. He has holed the longest putt on the second green this season and he is due to putt there if Jupiter Links hit the green in regulation.

Kevin Kisner

On form, it’s kind of hard to even know why Kisner is playing TGL. He hasn’t recorded a top 20 since the summer of 2022 and he has made just six cuts in 25 starts since the start of 2024. He’s also ranked the shortest hitter in the entire TGL. Personality and grit explain why he is playing but is it enough?

Max Homa

It’s not been a good year for the popular Californian. He was T26 in his first start in Hawaii but then T53 at Pebble Beach before missing cuts at TPC Scottsdale and Torrey Pines - and he hasn’t yet made a putt in TGL. There is no doubt that Homa has quality but he is in poor form and this might not be the place to rediscover it.

The Bay Golf Club

Min Woo Lee

In finishing T48 last time out in the Genesis Invitational Lee broke a run of nine straight top 30 finishes. He also took to TGL on debut last week. He ranks second for driving distance, has never missed a fairway, and has been chipping for fun. He also looks like a fantastic fit for TGL, a born showman who enjoys the limelight.

Shane Lowry

It’s been a patchy start to 2025 for the Irishman. He missed the cut at the season’s first visit to Torrey Pines and was T39 at the second time of asking. But in-between he was an excellent runner-up in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s a good team man and looks to be an integral part of a fine squad.

Wyndham Clark

He hasn’t done much on the PGA Tour in recent weeks but he has taken to TGL. He’s hit the longest drive on the second, 13th and 15th holes. And he’s finished nearest the pin on the seventh and the 14th. He has a superb singles record winning four holes, losing none, and halving two.

The Bay Can Make the Playoffs

This looks like an opportunity The Bay will be keen to take.

The trio can secure a place in the Playoffs and there has been little in the performance of Jupiter Links to concern them.

Kisner and Homa are in particularly poor form and it might even be the case that the limited number of shots they hit in the TGL format only emphasizes the problem.

You’d think they could hide but, in fact, it just highlights their fears.

The Bay can play free but hungry and have a trio who have thrived in front of these unusual galleries.

It’s the short price but it is worth backing at -163.
