The TGL has rather been drip fed to viewers so far.
But on Monday the indoor golf tournament at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach really cranks it up with a Presidents Day tripleheader.
The action starts with two of the six-team league’s unbeaten sides as Atlanta Drive pegs it up against leaders Los Angeles Golf Club at 1pm local.
At 4pm, Atlanta goes again, this time taking on The Bay Golf Club (1-0-0).
And to round off the action, The Bay has a quick turnaround and faces off against Boston Common (0-1-1) at 7pm.
For the opener, the betting couldn’t be closer and that seems fair enough on the evidence so far.
Los Angeles opened their campaign with a 12-1 rout of Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links and backed that up with a 6-2 success against Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common.
Meanwhile, in their only match so far, Atlanta Drive produced the first and, so far, only shutout of the tournament via a 4-0 win over New York Golf Club.
In the outright market (bet365), these two now front the betting, with Los Angeles +220 to win the trophy and Atlanta +320.

---|---|
Player 1 - Billy Horschel | Player 1 - Justin Rose |
Player 2 - Patrick Cantlay | Player 2 - Tommy Fleetwood |
Player 3 - Justin Thomas | Player 3 - Sahith Theegala |
Each match consists of two teams of three playing 15 holes across two sessions on a selection of custom-designed holes
Triples: Holes 1-9 - Each team of three playing in alternate-shot format
Singles: Holes 10-15 - One-vs-one, head-to-head competition for the entire hole. Each player from each team plays a total of two full holes
Horschel embraced the fun in Atlanta’s opening win, performing his ‘Dirty Bird’ dance which teammate Thomas later said he “couldn’t unsee”. But Horschel wasn’t just playing the clown as he also went unbeaten in singles with a win and a tie. With a ninth at Pebble Beach and a 21st in The American Express, Billy-Ho has flashed some good form on the PGA Tour too although he’s missed his last two cuts.
The more reserved Cantlay doesn’t look the perfect fit for a fun, loose atmosphere like this but plenty of comedy acts rely on a straight man and the Californian certainly helped keep his teammates in line in Atlanta’s opening win. A steely competitor, he tied both singles matches on his TGL debut and he’s in good form too with a top five at The American Express.
Thomas made putts from 24 and 23 feet - two of the four longest putts so far in the TGL - in the win over New York. He was unbeaten in singles and his 3.96 strokes gained total in that opening match is the most for any single contest so far. Second at The American Express and sixth in Phoenix, there’s every reason to think JT will bring it again on Monday.

Rose was the best putter on show in LA’s opening win and he’s made seven putts of more than five feet in the two matches so far. They all add up. He’s 1-2-1 in singles play. Out on the main Tour, he’s missed cuts in the two events held at Torrey Pines but between those he posted third place at Pebble Beach.
Fleetwood has been a stud in Ryder Cups and was clearly enjoying himself on his TGL debut, shouting: “We don’t need the Hammer! We’re fine!” as the crowd bayed for it to be thrown in LA’s 6-2 win over Boston. “How much fun is this? What a team. What a group of lads. It’s epic, isn’t it,” added the Englishman, who hit every fairway and went unbeaten (won one, tied one) in singles.
Theegala sat out the 6-2 win over Boston Common last time but played his part in the 12-1 demolition of Jupiter. The crowd favorite was pumped, admitting that he was hitting the ball a full club farther than normal. But he kept control and was unbeaten (1-0-1) in singles. He hasn’t had his best stuff on the PGA Tour so far though, failing to make the top 30 in six starts.

This could be the toughest match to call so far.
Both teams are unbeaten but that fact doesn’t seem to do their performances justice.
Los Angeles won its first two matches by a combined 18-3 and Atlanta Drive has yet to lose a hole after wiping out New York 4-0.
Putting has been key so far but, once again, these two are hard to split.
Los Angeles is 85% (11-for-13) in putts less than 10 feet and that stacks up against a league average of 62.1%.
Atlanta Drive holed 65 feet of putts (average putt made of 13.1 feet) when beating New York.
Still, you have to nail your colors somewhere and I’m fractionally in favor of Los Angeles making it three wins out of three.
Fleetwood slotted in perfectly when making his TGL debut and, if this counts for anything, he took down both Cantlay and Thomas in the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Rose and Theegala also bring plenty of spark and quality, while winning their first two matches gives LAGC just a little more scope to play free and loose.
This could be tight - and don’t be surprised if we see overtime and its nearest-the-pin decider - but the vote, very marginally, goes to Los Angeles.
