Two crucial games from Group 2 of the Super Eights will be played in Barbados and Antigua on Sunday with USA, England, West Indies, and South Africa involved.
The dynamics of this group remains very interesting with South Africa on top with two wins out of two in the Super Eight phase. However, unfortunately for them, despite remaining unbeaten the whole tournament, the Proteas will still likely be knocked out if they lose to the West Indies. This is because both England has a game against USA, which would see them go equal on points with South Africa.
Given the bridge between the two teams, it is likely that England might win big, which would push their net run rate above South Africa’s. This means that a win for the West Indies, who already have a better run rate than the Proteas, against South Africa would eliminate the Aiden Markram-led side and see West Indies and England through to the semis.

Phil Salt has been England's star at the top of the order in recent T20Is, but his form in the T20 World Cup has so far swung between extraordinary and below par. The opener struggled to hit the right tempo with his batting in the first few games before bursting open with his repertoire of shots in the game against West Indies, where he smashed an unbeaten 87, including 30 runs in one over.
Salt will be crucial in letting England's anchors, Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow, settle in and attack the bowling. The initial impetus he provides has proved to be vital for England. After the loss to South Africa, England need a net run rate boost against USA and Salt will be key to giving them a good score in this game.

Before the start of the tournament, Aaron Jones made a stunning statement about playing a positive, attacking brand of cricket and he lived up to it with a sensational knock of 94* in the game against Canada, guiding USA to a historic win. Jones’ positive attitude rubbed off on the rest of the team and they have created a stir this tournament, knocking Pakistan out and entering the Super Eight phase.
They wish to bow out on a high as Jones revealed on the eve of the clash against England and the USA batter will be important in doing so. Handling England's strong bowling, including their spinners, in the middle overs is a tricky task and Jones has shown that he can do so with his slog sweeping and leg-side play. Bank on him to do well this match.

The one issue that perturbs Associate teams when they come to top-flight cricket is handling raw pace and bounce, which they don't get to face a lot of at lower levels. In the game against South Africa, Anrich Nortje, high pace quick, and Tabraiz Shamsi, a rare left-arm wrist spinner, troubled USA and snatched victory under their noses.
Against England, their major hurdle will be the pace of Mark Wood. Consistently capable of hitting speeds in excess of 150kph, Wood is a strong weapon up England’s sleeve, particularly on wickets that have pace and carry. The ball was skidding along on the Barbados wicket in the previous game and should it stay the same for this match, Wood will be the difference between the two sides.

The swashbuckling left-hander has had a good tournament so far, but if West Indies are to progress further in the tournament, they will need to win against South Africa and Pooran’s form could make or break their T20 World Cup. The wicketkeeper-batter made 98 in the match against Afghanistan and followed it up with scores of 36 and 27* in the next two matches.
The pace and length from South Africa’s bowlers will suit Pooran, whose biggest challenge will be Anrich Nortje’s extra bounce. The South African spinners have also not had a major impact so far and Pooran will be backing himself to capitalise on their overs. Back the West Indian to make a good score in this match.

Quinton de Kock comes off the back of half-centuries in his last two games after a slow start to the T20 World Cup. With better batting wickets in the Caribbean, compared to USA, de Kock has put South Africa ahead with belligerent knocks in the powerplay. In the match against England, de Kock’s knock proved to be the difference between the sides as Proteas maintained their unbeaten run in the tournament. De Kock was awarded the Player of the Match for his innings.
Against West Indies bowlers who like to bowl the short length, de Kock will eye his favourite leg-side to smash a few big ones and once again give South Africa a strong start in the Powerplay with the bat. In recent games, de Kock has made a resounding impact with the bat and you can bank on the South African opener to once again be at the forefront of his nation’s charge to the semi-finals of the tournament.
