Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the upper hand when it comes to head-to-head records. They have won 11 of the 20 fixtures against Delhi Capitals, whereas the team chasing their maiden IPL title emerged victoriously on nine occasions.
However, Delhi won the previous meeting between these two sides which was played in Dubai back in September 2021. Shreyas Iyer and Kagiso Rabada were the stars for the Capitals in this match, but both of them are not a part of the franchise anymore.

Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad will cross paths in the 50th match of the 2022 Indian Premier League Season at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium on Thursday, 4th March.
Plagued with injuries, Delhi Capitals have never really got going as a team – barring that they have picked up a few wins here and there to keep themselves in the hunt for a playoffs place. Rishabh Pant’s men won only two of their first five matches, but they bounced back by winning two of their next three matches. However, the good work was undone in their previous fixture, where they succumbed to a 6-run defeat against Lucknow Super Giants.
Sunrisers Hyderabad started their season with back-to-back defeats, but they turned things around emphatically by embarking on a five-game winning spree. However, they too have been on a downward spiral recently, having lost against Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in their last couple of matches.
Delhi Capitals will be eyeing reinforcements in their bowling department, given that they conceded nearly 200 runs in their last match against Lucknow Super Giants. Chetan Sakariya in particular had a really rough day at the office, as he conceded 44 runs without picking up any wicket. He is likely to be dropped from the playing XI and Khaleel Ahmed is the obvious replacement option.
However, the left-arm seamer is nursing a hamstring injury and his availability for this game is not known yet. Provided Khaleel is not fit to feature, the Delhi management can give youngster Kamlesh Nagarkoti a chance to showcase his talent.
It will be interesting to see what playing XI Sunrisers Hyderabad field in this match, for they will be faced with a dilemma regarding their spin option. Washington Sundar recovered from an injury and replaced Jagadeesha Suchith, but in hindsight, Hyderabad could have done without this move as it did not work out the way they wanted it to. Sundar did not bowl a single over and scored only a couple of runs with the bat. Hence, Suchith could be back in the team in this fixture.
Kuldeep Yadav: Delhi have not been a particularly impressive bowling unit, but much of their deficiencies and weaknesses have been effectively hidden by the brilliance of Kuldeep Yadav, who is picking wickets for fun after finding his mojo back. The left-arm wrist-spinner has picked up 17 wickets in nine matches which includes two four-wicket hauls, both of which came against his previous team Kolkata Knight Riders.
T Natarajan: Unlike Delhi, Hyderabad have been dependent on their bowling attack to pull off victories and though Kane Williamson has a war veteran in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and a fiery youngster in Umran Malik, the trump card has been T Natarajan. The left-arm seamer has outfoxed many batters with his variations, having picked 17 wickets. The 31-year-old has picked up two three-wickets, coming against Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in a span of about a week.
