This Saturday, fans of boxing are going to get a special treat as two undefeated lightweight boxers are set to meet in the ring for the first time in the T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada. Gervonta Davis (28–0; 26 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0; 19 KOs) are putting their undefeated records on the line in the top card of four major fights on Saturday night. These two boxers are looking to make more of a name for themselves in the sport despite having highly successful records.
Davis is coming off an eight-round win over Hector Garcia by corner retirement on January 7th in the Capitol One Arena. This was the fight that helped retained the WBA lightweight title for Davis. Before that, he was coming off a six-round TKO win against Rolando Romero on May 28th in Barclays Center. Davis has won and retained his titles in the lightweight, super lightweight, and featherweight categories.
This Saturday’s fight will be Garcia’s first official fight since his knockout win in round six over Javier Fortuna on July 16th, 2022 in the Crypto.com Arena. Before that, he was coming off a 12-round win by unanimous decision over Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9th, 2022 in the Alamodome in San Antonio. Garcia has accumulated eight wins in his professional career in the first round with the last five being by knockout.

Both boxers are putting their undefeated records on the line with this unrated fight. While Garcia is efficient and active in the ring, he doesn’t have the most impressive streak of wins and knockouts as Davis. All signs lead up to Davis to account for the big win and it may be earlier than expected.
The best odds to go is for Davis to win at -245 with an extra odds set to win by TKO at -140. There is a greater chance for Davis to win by KO or TKO than the odds to win overall.
This fight is set to feature two lightweight fighters that fight completely differently. Davis is a fast and shifty boxer that likes to utilize speed and quick movements to get into the perfect position to land solid and efficient hits against his opponents. Even throughout the latter rounds of fights, Davis has plenty of energy to stay active and quick. One of the most dangerous attributes of Davis as a fighter is his quick, but powerful set of punches he can land on his opponents. Some of his recent victories came big knockouts after a series of quick and powerful jabs.
Garcia is the opposite of Davis in terms of how he moves and attacks his opponents. Unlike Davis, Garcia is more comfortable with his movements and he maneuvers around the ring. He attacks calmly by making precise powerful jabs and waits for the opportune moment to make a move. With his calm and well-balanced nature, he can make solid counters of his opponents’ punches which allows Garcia to deliver a perfect jab right when the opponent is at their most vulnerable.
Both boxers attack differently, which means it will not be a quick energetic fighter versus a calm and patient boxer. Davis is highly active and is bound to attack Garcia with a fury of jabs and movement when he is waiting for Garcia to come to him. This is a big reason why Davis is the favorite going into the fight and it is a big reason why he is favored to win by knockout or technical knockout.
