Caroline Dubois vs. Jessica Camara: Betting Odds, Predictions & Fight Preview

Published January 8, 2025
6 min read

Welcome to our first boxing betting preview of 2025. I’d like to wish all my followers a very happy new year.

We enjoyed some memorable winners and lovely profits last year, and a hectic schedule gives us an opportunity to keep the profits rolling home this term. There are already some mouth-watering bouts on the schedule, including Chisora vs. Wallin, Dubois vs. Parker, and the eagerly awaited rematch between Beterbiev and Bivol. It’s exciting times, and World Sports Network will be ready with expert previews and predictions.

Turning our attention to the first major boxing event of the year, we’re off to Sheffield in England, for a WBC world lightweight title fight between Caroline Dubois and Jessica Camara on Saturday. You can follow all the action from the main event and the best of an interesting undercard live on Sky Sports. But who will come out on top before a global audience in this UK vs Canada showdown?

Dubois is the red-hot favorite with all respected online bookmakers and she’ll be extremely popular in the betting. The odds suggest it’s a case of how Dubois wins the belt rather than if she gets the desired result. But followers of the noble art know we can take nothing for granted in this game. Will Dubois vs Camara provide the first upset of the year? Keep reading as we dissect the form of both fighters, update you on the best betting odds available, and attempt to pick the winner.

Dubois vs. Camara Odds

Highlighting the fight-winner market, we find victory for Dubois is the most likely outcome at the Park Community Arena. Recent form, an unbeaten record, and a 50% knockout average convinced betting traders to side with the 23-year-old southpaw known in boxing circles as Sweet Caroline. Backers will find the Londoner at odds of -2500 with bet365. That’s short but difficult to argue against, and those odds will likely push Dubois supporters into the specials, including the method of victory market.

Camara travels from her base in Montreal, Canada, as the outsider to win. The away fighter known as The Cobra has won 14 of his previous 18 bouts, but her record shows she has stopped just three opponents, with her most recent KO victory coming more than two years ago. Jessica knows the betting and the English boxing crowd are against her, but she’ll arrive at the venue fit and ready to give it her all. A surprise win for Camara is available at the +1200 offered by bet365, with a draw an option at +2000 on the website and app.

Dubois vs Camara Odds Predictions

Caroline Dubois vs. Jessica Camara Predictions

Dubois Unbeaten in Ten

Caroline Dubois will duck between the ropes on fight night, boasting a perfect ten-bout winning record. She debuted in 2022 with a convincing points win over Vaida Masiokaite in Cardiff over six rounds, and the fighter from London didn’t look back. She didn’t have to wait long for her first stoppage, with Dubois halting Martina Horgasz inside a round, sparking a run of five knockout wins on the bounce. Dubois is a fighter with power and skills in equal measure, and we’ll see another example of that this weekend.

Dubois was last in action when beating Maira Moneo on points over ten rounds at the Oakwell Football Ground in Barnsley, England, back in August. It was a bout she was favorite to win, and the 5ft 5inch boxer did the business in style, easing to a wide margin on the judges’ scorecards, winning most, if not all, of the rounds. Dubois is the current IBO and interim WBC champion, but will become the WBC champ proper if she adds win number 11 to her CV in the Steel City.

Camara Arrives on a Winning Run

Jessica Camara doesn’t boast the same pristine record as the women starting in the opposite corner on fight night, but she is the more experienced boxer. The 5ft 6inch orthodox fighter from Ontario has won 14, lost four of her previous starts, and is currently ranked number seven in the world. That could all change this weekend, with victory catapulting Camara toward the major places in the lightweight division.

Despite losing four times and being stopped twice in a career that began in 2017, Camara jets to England on a four-fight winning streak. Her last defeat came against Karla Ramos Zamora two years ago. Since that painful night in Laval, Canada, The Cobra has defeated three opponents on points and won the spare fight in round four. Her most recent win was a ten-round points victory over Bonnie Hunter in Montreal, earning her a crack at the title.

Pick the Champion for a Late KO

The traders working in Las Vegas and beyond support Dubois to beat Camara in England this weekend in a fight that’ll draw a massive audience across the United Kingdom and a healthy following in North America. It may lack imagination, but I agree with the betting and am happy to pick the home win on Saturday.

I couldn’t advise a bet on Dubois to win at the odds available in the boxing moneyline market, but there’s plenty more going on in the specials. The top bookies, including bet365, offer a long list of exciting markets, including method of victory, total rounds, and more. I’ll shoot for the value in the method of victory option, picking Dubois to score a first knockout win since downing Feriche Mashaury in round three at Wembley Arena two years ago.

Dubois carries raw power and her opponent has already suffered two defeats inside the distance. With the crowd supporting Dubois, helping to drive her to victory, I expect the local to get another win without the help of the scoring judges sitting at ringside. However, it won’t end early, and you can add over 6.5 in the total rounds market to your weekend parlays at -120 with leading online sportsbook, bet365.
