The boxing schedule continues to move through the gears as we get into the thick of an action-packed September, moving towards a hectic end to the year. Fight fans enjoyed Saul Alvarez’s stunning win over Edgar Belanga last weekend in Las Vegas. They can now look ahead to a heavyweight thriller in London as former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets fellow big-punching Englishman Daniel Dubois over 12 rounds.
Wembley Stadium provides the setting for this explosive bout with the IBF world heavyweight title on the line. As well as a chance to leave the arena a recognized world champion and the best heavyweight in London, Saturday’s bout also gives these fighters an opportunity to move closer to a unification fight against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury II. Professional boxing’s top division is more exciting today than it has been for many years, and the outcome of Saturday’s contest will shape the future.
AJ vs. Dynamite will be broadcast live on DAZN in the US and UK, and major online sportsbooks already have their betting odds available. You can predict the winner or play one of the many intriguing specials, including total rounds, method of victory, total knockdowns, and more. There’s something for everyone, and our resident boxing writer, Frank Monkhouse, offers his previews and predictions.

Anthony Joshua makes the short trip from his home in the UK capital to Wembley Stadium, with his professional boxing record showing 28 wins against three defeats, with 25 victories scored inside the distance of two losses recorded on the scorecards. The 6ft 6inch orthodox fighter is currently ranked number two in the world behind unified champion Usyk. A victory on Saturday would place him on a collision course with the all-conquering Ukrainian. Oleksandr has now dominated boxing at both cruiserweight and heavyweight.
AJ lost his world titles to Usyk in this city three years ago and the rematch in Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2022. Both were wide points defeats, with Usyk relying on his superior boxing skills and hand speed to impress the scoring judges. Is there an appetite for a third bout between Uysk and Joshua after two simple wins for the current champion? That remains to be seen, but Usyk must find a way past Tyson Fury in their eagerly anticipated rematch, and Joshua must impress against Dubois. A win over Dynamite won’t be enough to impress fans; AJ must land a convincing victory and probably another knockout.
Since suffering back-to-back losses against Usyk, Joshua has fought four times and recorded four wins, stopping each of his last three opponents. The former Olympic Games gold medalist began his fightback with a strong points decision over Jermaine Franklin at the O2 Arena before cutting down Robert Helenius in seven at the same venue, Otto Wallin inside five, and Francis Ngannou before the end of round two, both in Saudi Arabia.
With Joshua boasting winning form and an eye-catching run of knockouts, he’ll be a popular pick with online bettors and sports fans to land a fifth victory on the bounce. The 34-year-old from Watford knows all the pressure is on his shoulders. Still, he can’t afford to look beyond Saturday’s opponent as Team AJ understands the damage a fourth career loss would do to his chances of returning to the peak of the heavyweight division.

All the talk pre-fight has centered on Anthony Joshua and his quest to regain the world heavyweight titles by beating either Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury. Saturday’s opponent, Daniel Dubois, has almost flown under the radar, allowed to prepare free from the media circus, and that will help his cause as the Londoner readies to cause a huge upset. The hard-hitting 27-year-old from Greenwich boasts a professional card that details 21 wins against two defeats since making his professional debut back in 2017 with a first-round KO win over Marcus Kelly in Manchester.
Nicknamed Dynamite Dubois, the betting underdog ahead of Saturday’s clash certainly lives up to his name, with all but one of his previous bouts ending inside the distance. Daniel has scored 20 of 21 wins by KO/TKO and suffered both defeats by the same method. He’s an all-action, all-or-nothing fighter who uses his strength and power to overwhelm opponents early. The stats show if Triple D doesn’t score a stoppage win in the opening exchanges, he’ll lose the fight before the end. Joe Joyce stopped Dubois in round ten back in 2020 before Usyk ended things inside nine rounds last August.
Since losing to Usyk, fight fans have watched Dubois fight twice, scoring a pair of knockouts. He ended things with Jarrell Miller in the final round of a contest scheduled for ten and then halted the feared and avoided Filip Hrgovic in round eight. The latter result was arguably the best of Daniel’s career, but he knows he must improve again if he’s to stand any chance of adding Joshua’s name to his list of victims.

Dubois can certainly hit hard and has the power to knock out Joshua—there’s no doubting that—but I’m siding with AJ and believe his experience will prove the deciding factor in what’s sure to be a thrilling contest at a packed Wembley Stadium, with millions more watching the action live on television.
With Joshua by KO/TKO favorite in the pre-fight method of victory betting, we must get a little creative with our predictions. The form shows that both of Daniel’s defeats have come in rounds 9-10, meaning that a bet on AJ taking his time, weathering an early storm, and scoring a KO in the second half of the contest is the smart approach here.
