The odds listed in the table above have been lifted from the Caesars Sportsbook. They are correct at the time of writing. Boxing odds are subject to change – as we always remind our readers – so please be sure to do your research and get the best odds possible on your bet. Taking anything short of the market best price is simply handing yet another advantage to the betting industry, which already holds all the aces.
In addition to the fight-winner betting odds above, the top sports betting apps offer over 100 pre-fight and in-play markets. This means you can keep it simple and make your predictions on who the winner of this bout will be – Saul Alvarez or Gennady Golovkin. Canelo is the red-hot favorite with all bookies, and the odds are so tight it may put some off backing the Mexican. Other, more interesting markets are available that give backers a crack at boosting their returns. If you plan on making a winning prediction on this bout, you may as well do it at great odds.
There’s more to get excited about if backing Golovkin to win as – rather surprisingly – he has been quickly written off by the bookies. That’s a strange one, as a fighter with GGG’s power and unrelenting fitness can’t be simply overlooked. Ignore the Kazakh warrior, and you could be made to pay a hefty price. Back him at great odds, however, and if he wins – which is a real possibility – you will deliver a knockout blow to your bookie.

Alvarez on points (+100)
Who wins this fight, the boxing skills and dedication of Alvarez or the rugged, hard-working and determined all-action style of Golovkin?
That remains to be seen, but we know one thing for sure, it will be great fun finding out. Many fight fans have taken up their position on the fence, at a loss to predict how this bout will go. Will we see Canelo remain unbeaten in three fights against his middleweight rival, or will Golovkin make up for a draw in the first bout that looked rather harsh?
Canelo is certainly good enough to live up to expectations and win this bout, but he must give his opponent the credit and respect he deserves.
Golovkin has been a major player at middleweight throughout his career, and he has settled in this division, while Saul has moved through the weights, eventually finding his level at light heavyweight. Both gladiators are naturally strong and have great boxing skills and an exceptional fitness level. If they both are at their best – which we expect them to be – this will catch fire early.
Alvarez has shown in his two previous meetings with Golovkin that he is the better boxer, but the Mexican has learned it takes more than he has offered so far to stop GGG. In the first and second bouts, Saul landed some huge clean shots on the chin of his opponent, but Golovkin seemed to take them in his stride, despite Saul being a knockout artist with power in both fists.
Canelo will aim to box and move, racking up a strong lead on the judges’ scorecards before looking to take advantage of any mistakes by Gennady in the later stages of this bout scheduled for 12 rounds.
Alvarez is the favorite. Still, he’s coming on the back of a confidence-crushing defeat up at light heavyweight, where he was brushed aside by Dmitry Bivol for only the second loss of his career.
He spent many months training for that bout, adding weight and muscle in an attempt to compete in a division that is much higher than this one.
All that weight and muscle won’t be easy to remove. Golovkin has the power and skills to take full advantage if there are any cracks in his armor. He’s always in range, always on the front foot, and always ready for a war.
