Mobile sports betting went live in the state of North Carolina yesterday, allowing its residents within the state’s borders to wager on their favorite sports and teams. March Madness is right around the corner, as well as a critical time in the NBA and NHL season as teams look to make a late push for the playoffs.
For those in the state of North Carolina who have not signed up yet, sportsbooks are offering new user sign-up bonuses to increase the player's bankroll and potentially get off to a hot start. FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the apps offering a new user sign-up bonus, giving new users in the state of North Carolina $250 in bonus bets after creating an account and wagering as little as $5 on their initial wager.
No promo code is required. It’s as simple as creating an account and making an initial wager of at least $5 with your first wager. After wagering a minimum of $5, FanDuel will reward you with $250 in bonus bets. Those bonus bets can be used in various markets, or all on one bet. They can not be immediately withdrawn, needing to be used before the listed expiration date.
For those who have not signed up yet with the FanDuel Sportsbook outside of North Carolina and reside in a legal sports betting state with access to it, FanDuel is offering a different new user sign-up bonus. New users can receive $150 in bonus bets after creating an account and wagering a minimum of $5 on their initial wager. While the Minnesota Timberwolves are without Karl-Anthony Towns due to injury, the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to get back the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. That gives their overall production an instant boost as opposing defenses can no longer just fixate their coverage on James Harden, now having to spread thin and leaving the middle wide open for them to pick apart.
That bodes especially well against a Timberwolves squad that has now been running small after the injury to Karl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota now anchors Rudy Gobert at the five while running four out. That puts added stress on Gobert against slashing guards, having to make a decision to creep out to help force the ball out of the driver's hands or anchor at the rim and dare them to take a mid-range.
That spells potential disaster against the Clippers as Harden, Leonard, and George are all capable of stopping and popping for a high-quality mid-range or attack the rim should Gobert creep out too far. Factor in the Clippers holding opposing offenses to just 36.1% from deep, and that will force Minnesota to try and beat them in the interior as an undersized unit. Take the Clippers at no higher than -8 as they bounce back in a big way with their star players back in the lineup.
