One of the best matchups in March Madness on Friday is the Clemson Tigers against the New Mexico Lobos, and FanDuel Sportsbook is offering $250 in prizes to all new customers who bet at least $5 on the game.

Bettors don’t need to win their wager to guarantee the $250 in prizes—those will be awarded after the bet is placed, no matter its outcome. This guarantees that users will have plenty of betting power with the majority of March Madness still to come.

FanDuel North Carolina Bonus: Claim $250 in Prizes at FanDuel

This deal is for customers in North Carolina in celebration of the March 11 launch of the state’s online sports betting market.

North Carolina launched retail sports wagering in 2019 but waited nearly five years to expand its operations to the online world. All good things come in time, though, as this period of March Madness betting is expected to produce more than $2.7 billion in legal bets nationwide.

As tip-off in the Clemson vs. New Mexico matchup approaches, here’s how all new North Carolina bettors can claim FanDuel’s offer:

  1. Visit FanDuel sportsbook online or via the mobile app

  2. Click “Join Now” and enter your personal information when prompted

  3. Place a bet of at least $5 on the Clemson vs. New Mexico State March Madness matchup

  4. Win $250 in bonus bets

Note that this deal is only available to first-time FanDuel users who are 21 or older and in North Carolina.

All prizes will be accredited in the form of bonus bets. These are similar to credits that are native to FanDuel and cannot be withdrawn for cash or redeemed at other sportsbooks. However, bonus bets can be used as the stake for bets in eligible markets at FanDuel until they expire.

Customers in legal betting states other than North Carolina can still redeem first-time betting prizes for $150. They must correctly pick the winner of a particular matchup, though there is no minimum odds requirement. That means bettors take the largest favorite on the board, and as long as that team wins, the bettor will win the $150 prize.

Bonus bets cannot be used on round robins but can be used in any other legal market on FanDuel. Bonus bets expire after seven days, so make sure to take advantage of them while they’re there.

FanDuel is available in all of the following states: AZ, CO, CT, IL, TN, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, VA, VT, WV, and WY.

North Carolina March Madness Bonus: Win $250 Betting on Clemson vs. New Mexico

Despite what the seeds suggest, New Mexico is the favorite in this 6/11 matchup. The Lobos are 2.5-point favorites and -137 on the moneyline, according to FanDuel’s betting odds.

Basketball statistics site KenPom ranks New Mexico 23rd, 11 spots higher than Clemson in 34th. That comes on the back of them winning the Mountain West Tournament over reigning national runner-ups, San Diego State University.

Jaelen House, son of former NBA guard Eddie House, leads the team with 16.1 points, 3,6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Jamal Mashburn Jr., also the son of an NBA great, averages 14.4 points, while Donovan Dent averages 14.3 points and 5.6 assists. The trio of guards are tough to stay in front of and are used to carrying the scoring load.

The Lobos are also strong on the boards despite being smaller in the backcourt.

On the other side, center PJ Hall leads the Tigers with 18.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He and guard Joe Girard III (15.7 points, 42.5% 3PT) are both veterans of college basketball and will need to wield their experience to get past a hot Lobos team.

The game will get underway on Friday at 3:10 p.m. ET inside FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee.
