It’s a rematch between these two squads after the Spurs routed the Warriors last Friday to the tune of 126-113. With that loss, more pressure has been applied to the Warriors as they are firmly in the play-in as the 10 seed in the Western Conference. Getting out of the play-in is a stretch, yet they still have hopes of avoiding the initial contest with hopes of getting the 7th or 8th seed.
Take last game’s score with a grain of salt as Steph Curry sat out for the Warriors while Victor Wembanyana rested for the Spurs. Both are expected to come back and more importantly, give a huge spacing boost with Steph Curry’s three-point prowess back on the court. Without him, spacing was an issue as the rest of the Warriors' shooters, as they lean towards spotting up instead of creating their own shot.
The uptick in high-quality shooting opportunities bodes well for the Warriors as the Spurs have allowed open looks at a high rate throughout the year. The Spurs' defense comes into the contest ranked 24th in Opposing Effective Field Goal Percentage, allowing opposing offenses to shoot 56.5% from the field. With Curry’s return opening up the middle against a stretched-out defense, expect the Warriors to set a scoring pace too fast for the anemic Spurs to keep up with.
Our Pick: Warriors spread +4.5 (-108) at DraftKings Sportsbook
