Pro Gambler Billy Walters Just Filed Trademarks for His Handicapping System

Retired professional gambler, ex-con, and noted philanthropist Billy Walters just trademarked his handicapping system in what could be good news for sports gamblers looking for an edge, this from a guy who once made $1 million on a golf round only to lose it that night in blackjack.

In an VSiN interview earlier this year, Walters said:

I think I can help a lot of people. I’m going to put in 64 years of everything that I’ve learned about gambling and sports betting. And I’m going to include in the book everything that I know, whether it be technical or non-technical.

Billy Walters – the man who was once worth $100 million and who owned seven homes and a $20 million private jet is now going to share some of his betting secrets that led to his incredible gambling success in an industry that only a few have mathematically mastered.

The news of these new Billy Walters Handicapping System trademarks was revealed in this recent Tweet by sports business reporter Darren Rovell:

Walters will Launch an APP to Aid Sports Gamblers with Statistical Analysis

The trademarks that Walters applied for were for “BILLY WALTERS,” “THE BILLY WALTERS HANDICAPPING SYSTEM,” and “THE BILLY WALTERS SPORTS HANDICAPPING SYSTEM,” his name for the method he uses to select the best bets available.

The product Walters will be pitching, according to the trademarks, will be “providing news, information, consultation and commentary in the field of sports, entertainment, sports teams, athletes, sporting events, sportsbetting (sic) and gaming.”

The sports gambler who joined the Computer Group in the 1980s and who posted a 30-year winning streak in that tricky world believes he knows enough about sports betting to help those bettors with less knowledge of the angles so Walters will program his system into an APP.

It makes perfect sense given that Walters has spent much of his free time “pioneering the use of computer analytics to handicap games,” according to his own website, and you can bet that whatever this ex-con has to offer, it will be above board and in line with the law.

Walters Served Time for His Part in an Insider Trading Scheme

Back in 2017, Walters was found guilty of insider trading after he gained $32 million in profits and avoided $11 million in losses using non-public information he received from a board member of Dean Foods, an offense that cost him a 5-year prison stretch.

After his appeal was refused, Walters ended up serving some time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, but due to the worldwide pandemic he was released to home confinement in Carlsbad, California until being commuted by former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2021.

Now sports betting is legal, and Walters seems to have found his niche in that lucrative U.S. market with an app that will “”provide statistical analysis of sports teams, athletes, sporting events, sports betting and gaming,” an edge that could help some gamblers win big.

There are no guarantees in sports betting, but the biggest winners seem to do plenty of research before they bust open their betting kitties, and now as part of that process they’ll have “THE BILLY WALTERS SPORTS HANDICAPPING SYSTEM” to illuminate the better bets.
