Just days after New York opened limited legalized sports betting in the state, FanDuel unveiled their new sportsbook at Tioga Downs Casino Resort.
Entering the potentially lucrative New York market is a huge boost for the sports betting company, as there are only three other casinos in the state taking bets at the moment.
As we continue to expand our sportsbook operations across the U.S. the opening of our FanDuel Sportsbook at Tioga Downs Casino Resort is a history-making moment for the FanDuel Group, said Keith Wall, V.P. of Commercial Retail for the FanDuel Group.

Tioga Downs joins Rivers Casino, Del Lago Casino in Waterloo and the Resorts World Casino in Monticello as the four casinos eligible to accept sports bets in the state.
The head of the ownership group of Tioga Downs, Jeff Gural believes that FanDuel is the perfect partner for leading the casino into the new frontier of sports betting in the state.
Our partnership with FanDuel at the Meadowlands has surpassed expectations, said Gural.

Now that legislation in New York has been passed, we look forward to bringing the fun and excitement of wagering on sports to the upstate region.
The sports betting company also feels that the leadership group and facilities at Tioga Downs created the ideal partner for their plunge into New York sports betting.
Jeff Gural has been an incredible partner in New Jersey and joining forces with him and the team at Tioga Downs allows us to bring sports betting to New York sports fans while delivering new jobs and tax revenue to the Empire State, Wall said.

FanDuel has opened online sportsbooks in several states since the legalization of sports betting by the Supreme Court last year and New York becomes another area that the company has gained early traction.
But the physical sportsbook at Tioga Downs is just the companys fourth retail operation in the United States.
In addition to Tioga Downs, the company has a popular location at the New Meadowlands Racetrack, The Greenbrier in West Virginia and the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania.
At the Tioga Downs location, bettors can expect first-rate amenities at the 2,600 square foot sportsbook.
Customers can place wagers at one of eight betting windows or type in their preference at one of the 14 betting kiosks located throughout the facility.
If the bettor wants to stay and enjoy the game, then 27 video displays including a large video wall that will feature highlighted games throughout the day, are there to enjoy.
Finally, the sportsbook features seating for roughly 50 spectators with access to food and a full-service bar.
As New York legislators continue to debate on expanding betting to the entire state, the FanDuel location at Tioga Downs will be watched as a template for how popular sports betting could become in the state.
One of the benefits for the cause of expansion is opening the Tioga Downs location before the start of the lucrative NFL and college football seasons.
This timing will allow the sportsbook to show strong numbers out of the gate, helping the push for opening legalized sports betting throughout the New York market.
