FanDuel Sportsbook Introduces AI-Powered Assistant for Bettors

FanDuel is once again redefining the sports betting industry.

The country’s top sportsbook has launched a new AceAI to help bettors build their wagers. The virtual assistant can provide research that savvy bettors would typically have to discover on their own. The AI assistant can quickly check stats, past results, and more information to help you place the best possible wager.

“As the leading sportsbook, we think there’s an opportunity for us to set the pace on what experiences should look like for customers,” said FanDuel VP Jon Sadow. “We are in a position as a market leader to have a tremendous amount of data that we can actually put into customers' hands that empower them to make educated decisions.”

The new tool will be the first of its kind in sports betting, but similar AI assistants in other industries have been finding success.

AceAI’s debut comes as top rival DraftKings pursues a license to begin offering prediction markets. The Massachusetts-based operator is also testing a new paid parlay subscription service, leading FanDuel to look for new ways to compete.

How Will Bettors Respond?

The new AI tool is on the cutting edge of the sports betting industry, but time will tell how bettors use it. More AI programs are being used across industries, but the technology still has a way to go.

One issue plaguing AI is the ability to provide accurate information. Social media is filled with bots giving false (sometimes dangerous) information. AceAI has been promoted to a new level of AI, but that has yet to be proven. As a result, bettors may hesitate before adding this new tool to their betting process.

FanDuel’s decision to add AceAI does come with some massive risks. If the program cannot provide correct information, news of the failures will spread across social media, leading to angry bettors. This could lead to lawsuits and a sharp decline in users, putting their domination of the US market at risk.
