FanDuel Processed a Record 16.6 million Super Bowl Bets

FanDuel once again proved it was America’s favorite sportsbook during Super Bowl LIX.

Parent company Flutter has reported that FanDuel Sportsbooks saw over 16 million wagers on the big game. The wagers continued to pour in after the game began, with the platform seeing over 70,000 bets per minute at its busiest. More than three million unique users wagered on the Super Bowl using the sportsbook.

The strong performance was great news for Flutter Entertainment investors. They had been warned that losses from the NFL season would be felt, but this impressive result will help soften that blow.

Much of FanDuel’s Super Bowl success was due to their live betting platform. A record number of bettors wagered on the game after it began and chose Sportsbook due to its industry-leading platform.

On top of the impressive financials from the game, FanDuel also added many new customers. The NFL’s big game saw a record number of new bettors sign up, meaning the country’s sports betting industry continues to grow.

What Will Super Bowl Betting Look Like in 2026?

Super Bowl LIX smashed betting records, but that success isn’t guaranteed to carry over to next season. That is due to growing calls for increased regulations from lawmakers at all levels of government. As a result, many believe a crackdown could be coming.

Player prop betting is likely to be changed or banned. The Super Bowl is one of the most popular prop-betting events in the world. However, this bet type is the most susceptible to being altered by an athlete, coach, or official. Over the last month, several scandals have broken, leading to a more significant push to ban player prop bets altogether.

Other changes could include limits on bets, promotions, and other tactics used to bring in new bettors.
