The Tropicana in Atlantic City is the newest Caesar’s Entertainment live dealer studio home. Featuring five blackjack tables, a roulette table, and a mini baccarat table, the new studio will allow players on Horseshoe Online Casino and Caesars Palace Online Casino to play their favorite live dealer games with dealers actually on property at the Caesars-owned casino along the boardwalk.
One of the blackjack games is even a one-on-one high-limit VIP game that will accommodate more discreet players looking to bet more. The games, uniforms, and table imagery are designed to reflect the iconic Caesars and Horseshoe brands, and of course, you can earn those Caesars rewards points just for playing.
While many have complained about possible job cannibalization from iGaming, once this studio is fully open, it is expected to create almost 200 high-paying jobs in Atlantic City.
Caesars has partnered with Evolution Gaming for the software and back-end system management that makes all of this technology work. The two companies launched their first live studio collaboration in Pennsylvania in early January.
Unlike this rollout at the Tropicana, the Pennsylvania studio is in a nondescript building in Philadelphia, though this initial rollout featured some branding not only with Caesars' own products but also with some major league sports franchises.
Caesars Online competitors Recently, BetMGM Casino increased the stakes in live dealer games by offering the opportunity to place bets not only on the online casino but also on the physical casino floor. There are live roulette and baccarat tables on the actual casino floor with actual players playing. They are equipped with cameras that allow BetMGM customers in New Jersey or Pennsylvania to bet on the outcomes of these games, right along with the regular customers.
Even better, both offer the single-zero roulette wheel with only a 2.6% house edge or the ability to play the baccarat game either with full commission or a version of commission-free baccarat where you only get paid 0.5 to 1 on a three-card banker six. Both of these games can be hard to find, so the ability to play them both online or in person if you happen to be in Las Vegas is helpful.
There is no word yet on Caesars' future plans to include live games from the floor in their offering mix, but with many players specifically drawn to live dealer games because of their authenticity and realism, compared to playing against a computer and a random number generator, these types of games are only likely to grow in popularity.
While we still lack a crystal ball, Michigan would seem likely for the next live dealer studio, though Caesars does lack an actual brick-and-mortar casino in the Wolverine State. Still, iGaming is a $2.4 billion a year business there, and increasingly, people want to play live dealer games, especially those based in their home state, which provides jobs and taxes to their own communities.
