Coinciding with their casino online sports wagering debut in Pennsylvania, BetMGM has been named the Official Betting Partner of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Philadelphia 76ers.
Several important benefits will be included as part of the new partnership including an increased 76ers fan-based engagement campaign. The BetMGM’s logo will be prominently placed on the basket pole pads at all Philadelphia 76ers games. BetMGM advertisements will be placed on the 76ers app plus casino betting games branded after the 76ers on BetMGM.
MGM Resorts’ nearby onsite locations will also be involved as the deal announced that BetMGM Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City would become the official away game host of the Philadelphia 76ers. There will be events held at the casino hotel, with one being a Season Ticket Member and VIP party. There will be casino games, 76ers memorabilia, and more.
Fans listening into Sixers broadcasts will receive the message while BetMGM will having its logo displayed on the Philadelphia 76ers team broadcast, pregame, and post-game shows.
BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer, Matt Prevost, commented:
We’re honored to be an Official Sports Betting Partner of the 76ers. Our recent launch in Pennsylvania has been incredibly successful and this partnership is an exciting opportunity for BetMGM to offer 76ers fans unique ways to engage with their favorite basketball team.
Katie O’Reilly, 76ers Chief Revenue Officer also had this to say in commenting about the new partnership agreement:
We are thrilled to partner with BetMGM and together create new, engaging experiences to deliver to our 76ers fans. This partnership will allow us to connect with our fans on the digital channels where they spend their time through customized 76ers branded games and activations. BetMGM will also propel us into a new space, strategically targeting fans in the sports betting and gaming realm.
The new partnership should make for a smooth and successful transition as both the NBA and Pennsylvania have been bullish on the US legalized sports wagering since its inception in 2018.
Philadelphia sports teams have been highlighted recently with the NFL Eagles joining forces in October with DraftKings to become their Official Sports Betting partner along with BetMGM’s association with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Overall, the 76ers are now partnered with BetMGM, DraftKings Sportsbook, FOX Bet, Parx, and Harrah’s/Caesar’s. The Wells Fargo Center, where the 76ers play basketball, also has two sportsbook lounges sponsored by BetRivers.
It likely will be soon commonplace for fans and bettors to unite in all US stadium sportsbook lounges, featuring significant signage and opportunity to wager onsite by team partnered operators. The Wells Fargo Center will soon join Lincoln Financial Field, where the Eagles play football, currently discussing plans to add their stadium sports wagering lounge.
All popular visions are quite ironic as Philadelphia was the US Federal Court site where sports wagering and the appeal of PASPA (the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act) was originally judged in its final denial before being eventually overturned only four years ago.
