BetMGM Nevada Out-of-State Funds

BetMGM has just changed the online sports betting game in the Silver State.

Nevada bettors using BetMGM will no longer be required to use a Nevada-only online wallet. The state’s unique laws have led to operators using unique platforms, restricting players' ability to use money from an out-of-state account. BetMGM bettors can now seamlessly use their bankroll in Nevada and other operators’ other markets.

While bettors outside of Nevada have enjoyed this since sports betting was legalized, BetMGM’s new seamless experience is a significant victory for those residing in and visiting the state.

"We're proud to lead the charge in Nevada with a single account and wallet that simplifies and elevates the betting experience," said BetMGM CEP Adam Greenblatt. "Our players can now immerse themselves in the excitement of MGM Resorts' Las Vegas destinations or statewide while seamlessly continuing to place wagers in other BetMGM markets."

This new digital wallet allows Nevada bettors to use their funds in other markets, a significant win for the state’s many visitors. Many will opt to visit retail sportsbooks when visiting the state, but using their funds from out-of-state could lead to them placing more wagers online.

While no other Nevada sportsbook can match BetMGM’s new offering, expect to see them find their solutions and follow suit quickly.

Nevada Sign-Up Requirements Still Enforced

BetMGM’s new digital wallet gives Nevada bettors more freedom but does not change the state’s clunky sign-up process.

Nevada’s focus remains on protecting its world-renowned retail gambling industry despite legalizing online betting. As a result, all state bettors must visit the partner casino for whichever online sportsbook they wish to use. Once there, they must apply to open an account and make an initial cash deposit of at least $50.

Fortunately for BetMGM, they have plenty of locations and one of the top platforms. Their Las Vegas sportsbook also has a fantastic reputation, giving the bettors extra reason to make the trip down and sign up for an account.
