This is a very difficult pick to make. Dinamo Brest looks as if they’ll have a full complement this time out, while Shakhtyor is coming off of an encouraging league victory over Brest over the weekend. For Brest, they currently own a 2-0 lead on aggregate. We can see Shakhtyor scoring a goal due to their confidence, but not enough to bridge the gap.
WSN’s Pick: Shakhtyor Soligorsk 1-1 Dinamo Brest, Dinamo Brest advance on aggregate (3-1).

Slavia took an early goal in the first leg of this matchup and sat back to prevent any further damage to their lead. Against a desperate BATE side, it is difficult to see Slavia being able to contain BATE’s concentrated attack.
WSN’s Pick: FC BATE Borisov 2-0 FC Slavia Mozyr, FC BATE advances on aggregate (2-1).

First Leg Highlights (8 April 2020)
Manager: Mihail Martsinovich {Current: 2-1-3 (13th in Vysheyshaya Liga) | Top Scorer: Multiple Players (2) | Form: LLDW}
Expected Starting XI:
(GK) M. Baranovskiy – (DEF) #88 A. Raevskiy, #31 I. Tymonyuk, #6 Y. Pantea – (MID) #20 A. Chukhley, #5 E. Potapov, #99 G. Shevchenko – (FWD) #7 F. Narh, #9 A. Kotlyarov, #18 V. Zhuk, #28 N. Melnikov
Slavia are looking to make a bit of history when the face-off with BATE in the second leg of this semi-final matchup. They have only won seven out of their 35 historical meetings. Included in those seven was their most recent victory in the first leg against BATE.
After stealing a 1-0 victory in their first match against BATE, Slavia also have two of their most capable attacking players in Nikita Melnikov and Andrey Chukhley available for the second leg.
Slavia took advantage of an out of form BATE team in their last outing, but their opponents have found more consistency as of late. If they hope to take a victory and move on the Cup Final, Slavia can’t sit back. They will have to show they can exploit an organized defense.
Manager: Kirill Alshevsky {Current: 3-1-2 (4th in Vysheyshaya Liga) | Top Scorer: Stanislav Dragun (3) | Form: WDWL}
Expected Starting XI:
(GK) #48 D. Shcherbitskiy – (DEF) #21 E. Filipenko, #3 B. Nastic, #23 Z. Volkov, #19 D. Bessmertny – (MID) #22 I. Stasevich, #25 D. Baga, #5 E. Yablonskiy- (FWD) #18 W. Willumson, #26 N. Milic, #11 A. Saroka
On a positive note, BATE will be playing the second leg of this Cup Semi-Final on their home pitch. After giving away the first leg, they’ve got a lot to make up for. With a reorganized effort and a backline that is yet to concede in their last four matches, BATE looks good.
BATE early-season woes seem to be behind them. However, after winning their last match over the weekend, BATE sits in fourth place – just three points behind league leaders Slutsk.
Manager Kirill Alshevsky’s side has shown some attacking masterclasses as of late, to go along with their solidified backline. Veteran midfielder Stanislav Dragun continues to be an excellent creative force and finisher for their side.

First Leg Highlights (8 April 2020)
Manager: Yuriy Vernydub {Current: 2-2-2 (11th in Vysheyshaya Liga) | Top Scorer: Multiple Players (1) | Form: WLDL}
Expected Starting XI:
(GK) #30 A. Gutor – (DEF) #15 S. Politevich, #6 I. Burko, #4 R. Khadarkevich, #16 S. Balanovich – (MID) #77 Y. Kendysh, #24 G. Diasamidze, #27 J. Szoke – (FWD) #28 I. Ivanovic, #18 T. Vukmanic, #10 D. Bodul
Home side Shakhtyor Soligorsk are looking like a valuable underdog in this second leg matchup with Dinamo Brest. While Shakhtyor lost the first leg of this Belarusian Cup Semi-Final 2-0, they gave Brest a preview of what is to come when they handed their opposition a 2-0 defeat in the Premier League this past weekend.
Shakhtyor actually has the historical advantage over Dinamo Brest, having won 29 of their meetings to Brest’s 17. After the weekends result in the league, Shakhtyor are likely filled with confidence. Especially forward Vitali Lisakovich who has his first goal in the Vysheyshaya Liga since 2017.
Brest will be playing it safe in this match, holding a two-goal to none lead on aggregate. Shakhtyor showed a propensity for counterattacking play in their last meeting, but will likely have to press the issue if they hope to come up with two goals to equalize.
Manager: Sergey Kovalchuk {Current: 2-1-3 (14th in Vysheyshaya Liga) | Top Scorer: Multiple Players (2) | Form: LLWW}
Expected Starting XI:
(GK) #35 P. Pavlyuchenko – (DEF) #13 M. Vitus, #21 O. Veretilo, #22 A. Pavlovets, #15 S. Kislyak – (MID) #19 O. Noyok, #88 P. Savitskiy, #77 R. Yuzepchuk – (FWD) #10 A. Milevskiy, #62 M. Gordeychuk, #51 D. Laptev
The reigning Vysheyshaya Liga Champions Dinamo Brest have been fantastic over their last 17 away matches – despite their current league performances. While the pressure is on to keep their two-goal lead, Brest have only lost once in their last 18 matches away from Stadyen DASK.
Brest didn’t look encouraging in their recent meeting with Shakhtyor. Despite having the majority of possession, they gave up the ball in key areas and failed to capitalize on a number of opportunities.
It should be noted that first-choice center back Sergey Politevich for Shakhtyor is available for selection once again and is very likely to feature in this match. Shakhtyor will be encouraged, with their last performance, but Dinamo Brest will be trying to assure fans that they were just not at full strength.
